A Jewish Orthodox scholar is proposing an Old Testament ceremony, the redemption of the firstborn, to return Jesus of Nazareth to the Jewish fold and then hold a retrial at which he could be acquitted.
The first trial, two millennia ago, resulted in Jesus condemnation by the high priests for blasphemy, his crucifixion by the Roman conquerors and his resurrection through which Christians worldwide believe they can receive salvation and life eternal.
The Jewish authorities, however, have been libeled ever since as Christ-killers and more.
One scholar, Ariel Cohen Alloro, while not an official rabbi, is a student of one of todays great rabbis and a longtime student of Judaism and Christianity. He is proposing the traditional Pidyon haBen ceremony the Redeeming of the Firstborn Son to welcome Jesus, known to the Jews as Yeshua, back to his Jewish family and remove all the old taboos and restrictions related to his name from the Jewish Orthodox standpoint.
He said the next step should be to open a public retrial on behalf of Yeshua in the presence of 10 most important rabbis in Israel, meant to fix the initial rigged trial that took place 2,000 years ago and to clarify in front of the whole world all the aspects and issues related to this delicate subject.

beautiful, thanks for quotation!
Though the Jewish religious leaders were the main accusers of Jesus and demanded his execution, they are not "Christ-killers". WE ALL ARE GUILTY! Jesus died for our sins, willingly gave up his body as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Jesus said:
Amen!
Considering the current hatred I see from the left, in all things good, I would bet that the outcome would be the same.
Yahsuha said He came only for the lost sheep of the House of Israel. At that time there was no Israel. The Kingdom of Israel was split into two nations, Judah and Israel. Israel was scattered in 721 B.C. so it was not present when Yahshua walked the earth...Yahuah had divorced Israel according to Hosea. Torah says that a man could not marry a divorced woman but once her husband died she was free to marry. Yahshua had to die to release Israel to come back into marriage covenant with Yahuah. This sounds pretty radical but one worth studying if you are interested in Biblical Truth. It’s all scriptural but you have to study.
Jesus seriously rebuked Peter for suggesting he could avoid death...called him satan for suggesting it. The Rabbi is well intentioned, but erroneous.
It doesn’t matter who this guy is, there is no way Christians will drop their anti-semetic doctrines. It’s like asking Muslims to stop reading the Koran.
bigtigermike,
Leviticus 7:14-18 describes a freewill, voluntary peace offering that adds to the verse you quoted. explains the ‘3rd’ day too.
He is the Word..
When Jews understand that, they won’t seek to try to redeem him, they will know He has done the work of Redemption.
We just need to repent and believe..
So would I. It’s going to take a return before this is all sorted out. One can still have hope though.
It won’t get any better. I know I would sound like an old man, but I graduated high school 20 years ago, and I would have never imagined that people would pierce and tattoo themselves like they do now. I would have never imagined that homosexuality would become so celebrated and encouraged. Then the amount of abortions is so high. It is like this all over the world, except perhaps in Muslim nations, which is another telling sign of the times.
The road to hell is paved with "good intentions." This is a meaningless exercise, motivated by a guilty conscience, but not what God wants. If these Jews are pricked in their hearts, then they should do what Peter exhorts:
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (Acts 2:37-41)
But I think the Hebrews roots movement, which WND promotes along with other false doctrines, is dangerous and sets up many to be deceived. These so-called "Rabbi's" should be a tip off. Jesus commanded us to call no man "Rabbi".
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. (Matthew 23:8)
Jews, who are expecting a Messiah, but don't recognize Jesus presently as that Messiah, are rebuked strongly in scripture:
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. (1 John 2:22,23)
Antichrists. They don't believe in the same God and they don't have the Father. They didn't recognize Jesus, when he came 2000 years ago. And, when a "conquering messiah" does appear -- the antichrist -- he will deceive many and will be generally accepted by everyone but not by real believers. (2 Thessalonians 2). Subsequently, when Jesus returns in the midst of Daniel's 70th week, some 3 1/2 years after the appearance of the antichrist, Jesus' appearance will be like a "thief in the night"--unexpected by the unsaved, but fully expected by believers who will recognize the signs. (1 Thessalonians 4,5, 2 Thessalonians) Jesus will gather his own (Matthew 24:29ff, Revelation 8, Revelation 14) and pour out his wrath.
Well, that came out long and may not be as clear as it could be. If you are interested, here is a great video which covers these events in detail: After the Tribulation. It embraces the post-tribulation, pre-wrath rapture of the saints. It exposes the unbiblical (yes) pre-tribulation rapture doctine which will set up many to be deceived.
Very true.
Before everyone starts thinking this is a good thing, I’d be vary cautious. Here is what he said: “Alloro insists that he is not a missionary, nor a messianic, but a scholar within the Chasidic stream of Judaism”. They also say Christ will only return when the Jewish people summon Him back. Since they don’t believe He is God, then are they really getting ready to summon an anti-Christ that will claim to be Jesus? (Matt. 24:5 For many will come in My name, claiming, I am the Christ, and will deceive many.)
Matt. 23:39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'
Knowing the current feelings in the nation of Israel today, regarding Christianity, I've always assumed it would take something horrendous, like a nuclear attack with 2/3rds of the population wiped out, before Matt. 23:39 would be fulfilled, but perhaps not.
Actually, I may have misread that. I think “He” may have referred to the scholar in the article rather than Jesus. For some reason my computer is crashing the web browser on that site so my reading of the article was choppy.
Indeed. Part of my caution was from misreading a sentence, thinking they called Jesus a teacher. I actually checked on the Scholar now and he believes that Jesus is thee Messiah of Israel. Obviously if Cohen says that Israel needs to welcome Him back, Cohen must be familiar with the New Testament and through his actions he shows He may very well believe it. Time will tell, I guess.
You must mean "some" Christians, right? Because I'm a Christian and I don't HAVE any doctrines that could be called anti-Semitic.
Prove it.
