I ask your prayers for my father. He is eighty-eight years old and has been living alone since my mother died eight years ago. He has been in excellent health and condition for a man his age. He still drives. He is active in his church, the American Legion, and volunteers at the information desk of his county courthouse. He is a valued neighbor and member of his community. He went into the hospital last week for some bad back pain, an issue that pops up every couple of years. He also had a case of cellulitis, which was not responding terribly well to the antibiotics. They also found arterial fibrillation, which might be something new. He had not had any heart issues before.
My aunt has been feeding me some very alarming information about his condition (probably from my cousin, who is a nurse), and how even treatment for the heart issue can be life-threatening. I don't know if I want to believe her. I have to trust that the doctors will do the right thing, and that God will watch over their work.
I ask your prayers for the restoration of the health of a very vital man -- a good and kind man, a proud veteran of the Korean War era, and a patriot. I am thankful for having him for my fifty-nine years -- a lot longer than a lot of people have their parents. But I am scared, and I still need him.
Thank you.

Prayers up for your father, you and the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. Sounds like you come from excellent stock. Tell him he needs to get well and get back on the job because lots of little old ladies are missing his wonderful smiling face.
Prayers Sent, God Bless Him and your family.
Praying for his comfort and restoration to health, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayers for your father,
Prayers up for your wonderful father and for you.
Do you mean atrial fibrillation? If so it is very treatable. May put him on a blood thinner to avoid a clot, shock the heart back into rythym or implant a pacemaker.
Does he have sleep apnea? It can cause a fib or make it worse. If so he needs a cpap.
Watch for incident delerium which can occur after just a few days in the hospital.
Patient exhibits dementia or Alzheimers like symptoms but return to normal once home.
He responded well to the first treatment but had elevated heart rate today. A cardiologist is working on it. I think dad is just alarmed at having a heart problem for the first time, which is natural. Thanks for the information on the incident delerium. I didn’t know about that.
Prayers up for your dad.May God pour His grace on all of you.
Yes, he’s a tough old bird!
I will pray for him Southside_Chicago_Republican.((((Hugs))))
He’ll like that! And he’ll add that some of the younger ladies are missing him too!
Prayers out.
Praying for your dad to have god directed care and divine healing. Jesus is our Divine Physician. God bless you and your family.
Tell him to stay away from the young ones, they only want him for his money. The older ones are happy with an occasional romp in the hay! LOL
Prayers up—
Prayers for your father!
Every once in a while he will say, “if only I were thirty years younger...” So at least he’s being realistic.
Prayers for your Dad.
Will be sending you a private reply this evening. Prayers for your father. But wanted to give you a heads-up warning on the antibiotic Leviquin and the 30 drugs in the family. It is a last resort drug I found out after an incident with a splinter that required ultimately full fledged surgery. Hadn’t been to the doctors in 30 years and now this because of my stupidity of not wearing gloves . . . and twice I heard a still small voice telling me to put some gloves on while cleaning out the shrubs. God warned me. . .I did not heed.
Speaking of warnings as of May 12, 2016 on the government website there is a new warning regarding the drug Leviquin, I am sure it probably has saved lives, but I am on a crusade now to warn people about it. Do the research. . . .
