Il Papa- Judge for yourself... [author apologizes for falling for false quote @ reply 25]

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Revelation 13:11)

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.( I John 4:1)

Jesus warned us that one of the scourges of the last days; endangering and threatening his church and deceiving the world in the last days, would be the proliferation of false prophets.

The desperately needed Word of God, as sounded forth by those few choice true servants of God would have to compete with the din of the voices of hundreds “pseudo Prophets”, holding forth false “words” to deceive the multitudes who would otherwise repent and be saved, in some cases.

The last days would be characterized by them, according to Jesus; And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many….And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.(Matthew 24:4-5,11-12)

The apostles commanded not to simply accept on face value, but rather to test prophets, i.e. to “try the Spirits”, to see whether they be of God. There are specific God ordained tests that we should apply to any who come in Jesus name claiming to bring the Word of God.

The first test is the examination of manifestations and predictions…

And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.(Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

A Prophet who makes predictions in the name of the Lord which fails to come to pass, is a false prophet and should not be regarded. True Prophets are accurate 100 percent of the time.

The second test involves the teaching of the prophet.

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.(Deuteronomy 13:1-3)

Moses holds forth the possibility that a false prophet can indeed make predictions which are or appear to be validated(Even a broken clock is right twice a day!), or at times a false prophet can perform signs.

In that case examine the teachings that the prophet brings forth, and judge by them.In fact, the teaching is far more significant than the manifestation which accompanies the prophet.

Obviously no prophet is likely to come into a Christian Assembly and call upon people to openly worship another God. What Moses is saying that if you listen closely to the teaching of the prophet, you realize that it is a distortion of the Words of the only true God, and in effect is a false god, but in the guise of the true God.

The “god” of Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and Todd Bentley is not the God of the Bible, even though they say it is.These men are false teachers and they lead people into the worship of false gods.

In view of these two tests, let us examine the Pope.

Does Pope Francis have “manifestations” which accompany his ministry ? Newser reports;

Pope Francis was credited with what could be deemed a half-miracle in Naples, Italy, on Saturday, although it didn’t involve bringing anybody halfway back to life or turning water halfway into wine. Instead, the normally-solidified blood of St. Gennaro, the city’s patron saint, half-liquefied when the pope kissed the glass ampoule it was held in, according to the archbishop of Naples. After the archbishop told the congregation that the blood had changed consistency, showing the saint’s love for Naples and the pontiff, Francis said, “We can see the saint only half loves us. We must all spread the word, so that he loves us more,” according to the Catholic Herald.

The saint was martyred in AD305, and the faithful have long believed that if they pray enough, the blood preserved in the ancient relic will become liquid on the three feast days a year when it’s put on display, although skeptics believe the change in storage conditions or ancient chemicals in the ampoule could explain the miracle, NBC News reports. But it doesn’t always liquefy: The blood last changed consistency in the presence of a pontiff when Pius IX visited Naples in 1848; it didn’t liquefy even halfway for John Paul II in 1979 or Benedict XVI in 2007.

This account of one of the “miracles” of Pope Francis, just how dark, and superstitious the Catholic church really is at its core. Jesus and the apostles performed many miracles, healing the sick, cleansing lepers, even raising the dead, but liquefying dries blood? Kissing the blood of previous saints? This isn’t Christian, it is pagan!

As for the second test, the teaching of the Pope, consider this quote from “Jews News”,

On Monday the Bishop Of Rome addressed Catholic followers regarding the dire importance of exhibiting religious tolerance. During his hour-long speech, a smiling Pope Francis was quoted telling the Vatican’s guests that the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible.

“Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Jehovah, Allah. These are all names employed to describe an entity that is distinctly the same across the world. For centuries, blood has been needlessly shed because of the desire to segregate our faiths. This, however, should be the very concept which unites us as people, as nations, and as a world bound by faith. Together, we can bring about an unprecedented age of peace, all we need to achieve such a state is respect each others beliefs, for we are all children of God regardless of the name we choose to address him by. We can accomplish miraculous things in the world by merging our faiths, and the time for such a movement is now. No longer shall we slaughter our neighbors over differences in reference to their God.”

The Koran, a book which tells us that God has no Son, is the same as the Bible? How could anyone with any sense accept this? How could he equate Allah and Jehovah, Jesus and Mohammed? Notice the Pope’s emphasis on “peace”, something which the entire world longs for.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.( I Thess 5:1-3)

What is this “Peace” the Pope promotes? This is the very “Peace” that leads directly to everlasting destruction. True peace can only come about when men find peace with God through their the cleansing and forgiveness of the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. All other “peace plans” will prove to be anti-Christ and are doomed to failure.

Yes, you've been pawned and need to redeem yourself. The root cause is a hatred for Catholics, and thus a vulnerability to believe the worst nonsense you may come across. Resist that temptation and do penance.

He doesn't answer to YOU and you have no business telling him what to do.

But thanks for the laugh anyway.

You asked a question whose answer, on its face, is obvious. Look closely and it may dawn on you that there was only one quotation and it was false. So many pawnshops to handle all those who pawn their testimonies. It all could be avoided, such a waste.

I looked into this quote (which I actually found cited about six different places), but upon a deeper check on it, I found out I was wrong- I have just posted my errata on my blog and now do so here- I do believe I have been had on this quote...I was wrong to use it...BTW I don’t hate Catholics, and still make the case that the Pope is indeed a false Prophet, But I cede your point, I was tricked by a false quote and was wrong- Please forgive the false witness

I just did a quick search online and the quote is found at such sites as Washington Post and others. Here is a one source for it!

I searched with the following: Pope Francis was quoted telling the Vatican's guests that the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible.

“It should have been obvious the quotes were fake.”

I don’t think so.

We’ve witnessed a Pope kissing a Koran.
We’ve heard this current pope degrade capitalism as the “devil’s dung.”
We’ve heard him “mistranslated” saying all manner of crazy things.

He earned our belief that he could say almost anything contrary to truth.

Good luck deposing a pope.

I do believe in miracles, but there are no “Relic”miracles in the scripture such as re-liquifying blood.

This is the false quote bill; however, I can completely understand why anyone would think he really said this. Although he has not said these things exactly he does allude to some of these things in other quotes over the past few years.

This totally fake quote from pastorbillrandles is a lesson for all of us to be more discerning about what we repeat, lest we spread lies and deception.

Pastorbillrandles had some latent bigotry against catholics so strong that he completely dispensed with the most cursory review of his sources before pushing slanderous lies.

He deceived himself and probably succeeded in deceiving others

Maybe you should knock off mind-reading.
Maybe you can demonstrate some Christian charity?

Christian charity in this case involves righteous anger.

Like Jesus beating the money changers at the temple, Christians should rightly feel disgust at a “pastor” who so easily spreads slanderous lies.

If you’re going to present yourself as a “pastor” who is some kind of authority, shouldn’t you do the most basic checking to see if what you are pushing as an authority is even slightly true?

Let the public shaming bring true repentance.

“Christian charity in this case involves righteous anger.”

You are kidding yourself. It sounds like an excuse to not do what Christ commanded.

Do you remember the turning the other cheek saying of Christ? Any passages on forgiveness?

The quote sounded similar to other crazy actions and quotes we’ve heard from this pope.

I think your posts will only shame you.

This pope is a loose cannon.

What’s really sad is that he’s so bad that it was feasible that he actually did say that.
