Give it to the hippies to roll joints with. Or just burn it, outright. Who needs it?

it appears to buttress the Islamic claim that the Qurans text has remained unchanged for 1,400 years which is purported to be proof of its divine origin. So has the Iliad and the Odyssey, but for much longer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,does that mean they are divine?...............

it appears to buttress the Islamic claim that the Qurans text has remained unchanged for 1,400 years which is purported to be proof of its divine origin. I believe Robert Spencer's contention is that Mohammad did not exist, and the Koran is a fraud, but so what if they found a Koran text that was handwritten by Mo himself with a Polaroid snapshot of himself holding up a copy of the Koran and a copy of the 653 AD Mecca Times? It would then make it an authentic copy of a Satanic inspired text. Chalk full of factual errors, and encouragements to commit murder and mayhem. What is their point?

Whether it’s authentic or not, I don’t care. Any copy of the koran is full of garbage and hate. If I owned this copy and it was 1,400 years old, I’d keep it next to my current copy; on the floor of my car.

It's what's inside that counts, dummy. It's worthless and has nothing to offer mankind. The Koran is so full of silliness and backwoods nonsense and outright evil that nobody, no right thinking person, could ever take it seriously. And I don't care how old a copy the find.

After all the various versions of the koran were colated, no it has not changed. The process of colating it was however, a bloody event, per Nabeel Qureshi. In chapter 42 of his book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, he details this in his research of volume 6 of Sahih Bukhari. Book 61 of this tome details the process of the koran's collection. Unlike the Bible, whose 66 books were peaceably validated centuries before the First Council of Nicea, Sahih Bukhari details the various disagreements between various early 'witnesses' to mo's dictating the koran, as dictated to him by a demon. Included in this work, is details of bloodshed between disagreeing moslem groups. So yes, that manuscript is likely authentic, insofar as it matches today's koran, but as far as 'matching' what the demon told mo? Not a chance!

This news is not only of interest to scholars and Muslim intellectuals; it appears to buttress the Islamic claim that the Qurans text has remained unchanged for 1,400 years which is purported to be proof of its divine origin. The penalty for changing so much as one dot of the Quran is death.
I reckon the scribes have been very careful to keep it exactly the same, but that is not proof of divinity, only proof of fear.
