Leo Tolstoy famously wrote, All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. The problem is that Ive yet to meet a family that fits into Tolstoys tidy categories of happy and unhappy. The reality is far messier. Put tears and laughter, love and betrayal, fights and hugs into a blender and out will come a family. Even in homes where the walls are decorated with portraits of grinning moms and dads and kids, theres usually a closet door thats kept shut. Last week we were reminded of that, when the media flung open that door in the Duggar family home. And the skeletons came spilling out.

Should we have Josh Duggar beheaded?
Hyperventilate much? has anyone on any of these Duggar threads mentioned any such thing? Then why do you?
Some of these Christians will make very good Muslims when the time comes.
Most of these ‘Christians’ would look very differently on the situation if Josh himself had owned up to his misdeeds, adopting a penitential nature through them, and worked hard to overcome his weaknesses...expressing sorrow after being outed hardly qualifies as exemplary...
and it would also have helped if he hadn’t preened himself as representative of the FRC, and by extension if his family hadn’t paraded themselves a moral icons on the national television stage...
The family has reaped what it has sown...
As Bible-believing Christians the Duggars should be familiar with this verse:
“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come to light.” ~ Luke 8:17
Didn’t they believe this deep, dark secret would one day be exposed? God’s Word is true. They doubted it and were shamed.
That’s the thing.
They didn’t ask for forgiveness. They went from pedophile to pedophile looking for justification that what their son did was okay.
They allowed him to return, and he tortured his victims with incest jokes on TV. They allowed him back again.
They sought out fame and money, parading around, holding up their methods, which they knew were bad, as what God wants.
I’m a lot of things, and I am a sinner, but I’ll never claim to be more than I am. As a mother, if my child went out and hurt others like this, I would not put him in the spotlight.
A Christian should never be on TV as some sort of example of a righteous lifestyle.
We are not inherently righteous. If anything we should be on TV as sinners saved by grace.
You seem to forget the part about forgiveness?
How do you know that Josh has not owned up to it? Would you put your 14 year old on display with his sins? I just think you all are a bunch of hard hearted individuals and I am glad I am not related to you.
Also one more thing before I go back to not posting on this increasingly nasty web site. So by your logic, if a person makes a mistake, they give up their rights to speak out on anything? Correct? Wow! No wonder this country is going down hill at such a rapid rate. Oh well!
The liberals win again. I don't see half the aganst at the Kardashians!

Thank You.

I thought I copied & pasted but obviously I spelled the name wrong in the title. Could you please correct? Duggars
Exactly.
They kept it hidden so the $$$ would continue to pour in.
I agree with your post. No one is perfect. Should we give up on everyone that has sinned? If so, then even the most self-righteous among us would have to shun themselves.
We have bigger fish to fry than a crime done by a minor over 10 years ago. Forgive and focus on the criminals in Washington that are destroying everyone.
I thought I was about the worst person in the world that could still claim to be a believer but if this Duggar is what is claimed here I am sure I would not have watched it even if I had T.V which I don`t.
And as bad as my life has been lived I have no doubt that if I used what Paul said as an excuse I could be much worse.
The fact that Paul killed Christians before God wacked him real good and got his attention most likely bothered him a lot in his more humble moments which were few.
While no one is completely free of sin, Paul did not say what he said to give us an excuse to get down and wallow with the pigs just to make the world happy.
Not to mention the fact that I believe Paul is still much misunderstood.
In other words I think if I was to be judged by one of the apostles and had my choice I would pick one of the other apostles to judge me as I don`t think it would be as harsh.
I wonder how do the other 18 innocent Duggar children feel now? How about Josh's own three very young children? What about them? All this is on the Internet for posterity!
In some cases, a little oversight would be a good thing.
They didnt ask for forgiveness. They went from pedophile to pedophile looking for justification that what their son did was okay.
I can see what you mean there. (I wrote "can" just because I don't know the facts of the matter; I've never watched the show and have only the slightest familiarity with the Duggars.)
But my posts here aren't referring most directly to the Duggars. In fact, I was thinking earlier about including an explicit note that my allusion to the parable is not an attempt to compare Josh Duggar himself to the tax collector. For example, I do not claim to have any idea how repentent he has been, is, or will be.
Instead, if anything, I'd compare myself to the Pharisee.
I started quoting at Luke 18:13 because of a juxtaposition that struck me in your post. Otherwise, I would've been more likely to quote the whole parable, starting at v. 9. I myself have been tempted before to be one of the "certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others" (that same v. 9).
Do I "claim kinship with [the Duggars]"? I avoid the exact language of the article title because of the misunderstandings that will result. (I've never been very fond of expressions like "we are all _____" when the identification is at most a bit metaphorical and prone to problems.) Even so, claiming such kinship is probably more honest than disclaiming kinship in a sense that would have me commending myself because I am not one of the publicans or the harlots.
At first I thought he said we are all the Bloggers.
Any unwanted insertion of a body part or object into the vagina or anus is rape. Any sex organ inserted into the mouth without consent is rape. The youngest was four when her brother digitally (used his finger) penetrated her. Perhaps the use of “baby” was hyperbolic, but the rest is accurate.
You mean that Mother Teresa?
NOOOO!
We ain’t them either.
