The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.
What ANOTHER Catholic church?
You vipers...
"First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
You must like the KJV; for you’ve landed on 1611.
We are addressing her and asking her to pray for us. If you can not see that, then I can not make you see it. No matter how many times you all whine about Mary, it will never change what we know to be true.
I don’t think God gave us a Bible so that we could club each other over the head with it. No sixth sense needed.
Well...
Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed.
Well I never have and I don’t hold you responsible for Martin Luther’s pronouncements.
HMMMmmm...
John 2:6-10
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece.
7 Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it.
9 And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward calleth the bridegroom,
10 And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.
of which there is little certainty
but apparently knows only what is found in St. John
that the sect was short-lived - God would have included it as a major error for such a short lived error right?
has not been proved.
Another opinion
The base structure of the word Nicolaitans leaves no doubt.
Actually that number is going to be much higher.
If all catholics say the morning consecration prayer to Mary that's 1.2 billion requests or 13,889 per second.
If each catholic said just one Hail Mary, that's another 1.2 billion requests or 13,889 per second.
This does not take into account any extended prayer a catholic may offer up.
Once she "receives" these prayers she then has to communicate these to someone. Based on the glories of mary there may be some disagreements over the requests. That takes time to hash out the issue.
Many things are asked from God and are not granted; they are asked from Mary and are obtained. Now why is this? Because God has thus decreed to honor His Mother. ... source: the glories of mary .
For Mary to handle these requests she would have to be on par with Christ and the Holy Spirit.
But if catholics get their fifth marian dogma she'll be there. It's only a matter of time.
John 2:1-5 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
2 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. (WHAT!?!?! not the mother of GOD???)
2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine.
4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.
Have you read the catechism on this??
Jesus comes after Mary in every one of those prayers. It’s Mary center stage with Catholics.
I know that you will come back with a demand that I prove it to you from the Bible. I suggest you contact a theologian. I am not a theologian or Biblical scholar, nor have I ever claimed to be. It's what I believe and nothing you come up will ever change that. For what it is worth, I don't care if you believe it, that is your right.
Yes, that’s about as simple as I can make it. You are free to reject it. But I don’t see what there is to discuss. If you can’t see it, you can’t see it. That does not make you a bad person. You just can’t see it. That is all.
Poorly catechized I see.
Or maybe WELL catechized!!!
At least NON-biblical reasoning is sure in evidence!!
