House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's primary loss means Congress will soon say goodbye to its only Jewish Republican.
And not only that; it also means there will likely be no Republicans in Congress who profess to be anything other than a Christian.
According to data collected by the Pew Forum at the start of the 113th Congress last year, the GOP conference was 69 percent Protestant, 25 percent Catholic, 4 percent Mormon and 1 percent Orthodox Christian.
Cantor (Va.) was the only member of any other faith on the Republican side in either the House or the Senate -- out of 278 members. There are no non-religious Republicans in Congress either.

“Not true. I believe Keith Ellison is a Muslim and didnt he take the oath of office with his hand on the Book of Satan er the Koran?”
Yes, but Ellison is a DEMOCRAT so he hardly fits the profile of “Republicans in Congress who profess to be anything other than a Christian.”

Dave Brat is described as a devout Roman Catholic
Propaganda.
Democrat propaganda.
To create utter confusion.
Maybe Cantor will become a Democrat now, with the Soros blessing, so to speak.
We would still have Rand Paul and his followers to contend with. Rand Paul has recently come out as far from conservative interests as Eric Cantor ever was. I thought that it was an interesting end around on the prisoner exchange that Paul did tonight when asked what he thought of it.
Paul said that it should be dealt with as a legal problem, that Obama broke the law and that the five Taliban should face a military tribunal. How do you do that after Obama already released them?
Drudge has an article that Rand Paul supports Obama’s immigration.
Aaron Blake.....Jewish himself
Cares about the GOP
Cry me river
Cantor was largely dismembered by a Jew in radio
Take up anti semitism with him Blake..
To Preface, this is not pro-Cantor post, he’s gone, to hell with him.
Now then, a lot of people on this thread are saying “So, who cares?”. Lord Levin, himself a Jew, says says it doesn’t matter and the GOP should stop “chasing genitalia” and ethnic groups.
Simple political fact is that people like to see themselves represented in a political party and are more likely to vote for it if they do. We here only care if candidate is conservative (and some of us care if he/she is electable as well) and that’s it. Personally I don’t give a crap about the race/ethnicity/gender of anyone. But’s it’s not our votes we have to worry about. Don’t like that? Tough, that’s politics.
That’s why we should run CONSERVATIVE Women, Blacks, Hispanics, and Jews ect. ect. It does matter, it’s good for the party.
One Jewish Republican with a good chance at getting elected to the House this year is NY State Senator Lee Zeldin, in New York District one. He already has the Conservative nomination but faces a GOP primary (he and his foe George Demos both call the other liberal) before getting to moonbat rat Rep. Tim Bishop.
oh huh,
Everyone knows Cantor lost his race because he is Jewish.
Damn anti Jew Republicans,
or something!!
Didn’t know and couldn’t care less what his religion is, I don’t care for his amnesty bull.
I think that, apart from Zeldin, there are several other Jewish Republicans running for Congress, but they’re longshots. Ben Streusand of TX-36 would be on his way to Congress, but he lost the runoff.
But I think that it is false to say that Cantor was the only House Republican who practiced a religion ither than Christianity: Massey, Amash and Bentivolio are Ronulans.
Sounds like it’s time for me and KC Lion to run. Need more GOP Israelites in office.
Wait for it... Here it comes... 5...4...3...2...1 ....
Now, of course, the Tea Party is “Anti-Semitic” AS WELL AS “rayyyyycist”!!!
/sarc
sigh....
Cantor is a RINO of the first order, him being Jewish doesn't effect this election for me.
Sounds like they cut more than your schmeckle at your bris.
:)
It’s amazing how the left drags out the playbook.
To them, people are nothing more than a race, an ethnicity, a religious denomination (other than Christian) as needed.
What continually amazes - and saddens - me, is that so many fall for it. You’d think it would be obvious by now, after watching it played out over and over for decades.
I know what playbook needs to be dusted off; I’ve been calling for it for years...it contains a “solution” to all problems.
Mormons claim to be Christian with one hand and say they aren’t with the other.
Mormons claim that God once used to be a man. This is utter blaspheme. In other words, God used to be a sinner. Complete and utter blaspheme.
They also believe that they (Temple Mormans) will be God one day as well.
Shall I go on?
Too bad about Streusand, safe seat.
As you say, there are probably a few more Jewish candidates who are less than competitive, but I’m not familiar. Alicia Eck in NJ-12 may or may not be Jewish, don’t know. Those German names.
I’m thinking Zeldin is the better choice in that NY primary, of course Cantor is doing a fundraiser for him so he muuuuuuuust be a RINO dog, as Demos says. Nasty primary, hyperbolic attacks on both sides, hope it doesn’t hurt us for the general. And I hope if Demos wins that Zeldin quits as the Conservative nominee, can’t split the vote.
I’ll forever curse that moron Felix Grucci for giving us Bishop. Grucci would have won if he had just ignored Bishop.
The GOP feels it has to make sure that Cantor’s seat goes to the Dems. If Brat wins, it means they are in big trouble. If he loses, and they can paint the TEA party as Nazi’s, the status quo will (for them hopefully) return.
Either way, the GOP is moving against Brat. I expect that you will see all kinds of interesting tricks to take him out.
If I had to guess, there will be a move to tie Brat in with the people who were hunting cops in Vegas (Gadsen and nazi flags on the bodies).
