My child was born today. She is in the ICU at Iowa City. We made it 34 weeks. So far baby's lungs are the main issue, but she is progressing ok
Continued prayers for your family, redgolum.
So sorry to hear of this setback. Thank you for keeping us informed. Prayers continue...

Prayers continue.
They are walking the vent down even more. It is set at 10 breaths/minute, and Dani is keeping up quite nicly. They hope to have her on at CPAP soon, and maybe transfer her back to a local hospital. The University of Iowa NICU is full up, and all those kids could use some prayers also.
The heart murmer needs more attention, but they are not sure what type of hole they are looking at yet. That runs in my family (my great grandfather had one all of his life, and died at 92), so it isn’t related to the PPROM.
Dani is forging ahead again...please keep those prayers coming.

We’re all so blessed to be praying for such a valiant baby girl who truly wants to live and for her wonderful family who love her so much.
God bless you all.
Thank you so much for keeping us informed. Prayers continue...
Been a bit, so I will post an update.
Dani is on a less invasive ventilator (a Nava) and is doing “VERY WELL!” according to the doctors on staff. So well, that the first day she was on they lowered the settings three times.
Hopefully, she moves off this vent quickly. If she can go to a CPAP, she should be able to transfer to a hospital closer to home. Thank you for all the prayers!
Thank you for the update. Praying every day for precious Dani.
Update???? And Pics!!!! Please!!!
Sorry! I Don’t know how to set up pics.
Dani is continuing to be a miracle. She is soon going to a hospital closer to home (yeah!) and will be there till she is off the CPAP (shouldn’t be to long).
We gave her a bottle for the first time yesterday, and she drank it all! My bride and I didn’t realize that the expectation was for her to only be able to drink about 5 cc’s, not the entire 28! Many babies in the NICU don’t drink much at all, and quite a few go home with a feeding tube as they associate things down their mouth with pain.
Her lungs are growing and healing. She has Chronic respiratory disease from being on the ventilator for so long. Dani is very active when she is awake, and likes to grab things and look at her mobile.
Looking forward to her getting closer to home, and hope that she is able to go to her home soon!
Thank you for the update. I’m so happy that she is able to bottle feed. Has she been put to the breast yet?
