Baby Dani is still strong, and moving around (I felt Baby move last night). Dani seems to be blocking the leak at times, which is good! The Doctor is starting to be hopeful. She has been great, but the first two weeks she was trying to prepare us for a probable miscarriage, now she is trying to prepare us for the long haul of bed rest.
My bride is getting a little stressed being on bed rest.I have been trying to think of ways to keep her occupied, and need to look at a used game system to give her something to do.
My mother in law has been staying with us for a few weeks, and has been a great help. We are trying to rotate through the people so we don't burn any one member out.
Thanks for the prayers. It has helped us so much.
Buy some yarn and let her crochet a baby blanket for Dani. Crochet and knitting are easy to do, require just a bit of concentration to master (thus occupying the mind and crowding out worry) and keep your hands busy. Plus, she will be doing something for the baby.
Knitting provided a nice distraction for me while I was going through chemo and didn’t have the energy for much else.
Still praying.
She does crochet. I will suggest that to her.
Honestly, I think she is scared to hope (as I am sometimes).
Good news update! Please reply to redgolum.
So good news.

Praise God!!! Prayers continue...
That is great news, redgolum. I haven’t been through it myself but have known two ladies who were restricted to months of bed rest. They both confided that at times.. they thought they were going nuts. I guess staying in bed all day and night (except for potty breaks) is okay for someone feeling ill. I think it is another story for someone who feels good but has to stay there. Anyways... here are a few ideas and think/talk them over. How about some visitors from a church group? It can be sporadic and not too long. A new person to have a conversation with can make the time go by. Also, books of any sort can help. One friend got hooked on the crossword type puzzles. Can you haul/hook up a television in the bedroom? Okay.. not much on it per se but maybe RedBox or Netflix for some movies. Also, is there any sort of craft that she wanted to learn but never had the time? I am thinking needlepoint. You (or a lady friend) can purchase the items and your wife’s hands will stay busy (plus, they have beautiful pillow/wall hanging ones especially for a nursery. ***I realize these are just a few suggestions and some other FReepers may have better ideas! Hugs, Mom
Get her books.
Start with E. G. Lewis Christian series. I’ve read two of them. “Witness” and “Disciple”
She actually has been reading some of those. I can see them pop up on the Kindle account!
Good suggestions. My ladies: group, YLI, does home visits, cooks meals, prays with those in this situation.
Right now we are praying for those who suffer from leukemia and lymphoma.
That's good thinking - hope it works out well for you. Still praying for you guys and baby Danni. His Will be done...and God Bless you all!
What is usually wonderful with the ladies groups is that they are super sweet ladies! They can uplift her spirit with simple conversations, too. Talks about kids, grandkids, gardening... whatever.. someone new to meet. Someone new to talk to.
Prayers Up!

Awesome!! The doctor giving you hope is the best news ever! Praying for your miracle and that Dani does block the leak!
My friend found the ipad or laptop to be huge in helping her feel connected to the outside world during bed rest.
red, she can do this. Be thankful for the age of computers. When I went through this I had no family and no computers. If you need to borrow somebody’s laptop. Also go to the library and stock up on some good reading. If she has never read “Jane Ere”, I guarantee you she will not notice the time going by, even if she has never been a reader. Classics are classic for a reason. Tell her that Nan said, “You can do this”.
This is great news. :-) Thank you for letting us all know.
As for something to do, reading good books, watching good movies, doing puzzle books, etc., will help to pass the time. Maybe she also would like to try her hand at writing, starting with a journal of letters to your baby.
Prayers will continue...
(((((Hugs, and Thankful Prayers)))))
That’s good news! Watching comedies helped me during bed rest. It didn’t take the worries away, but it did help keep spirits from plummeting.
Prayers continue!
