Exactly, false doctrine breeds corruption. A mandatory priestly celibacy is indeed a false doctrine with no basis in the Bible or the Gospels. The Church should abandon it.
As opposed to why the LA Archdiocese made theirs public, i.e. because the courts ordered them to.
This does not include the money paid by the homosexual network to recruit and buy the silence of their homosexual playmates. The hierarchy protected homosexuals and expects faithful Catholic families to pay for their homosexual activities.
Faithful Catholic families warned of homosexuals but were ignored and threatened by the hierarchy. The seminaries were taken over by homosexuals leading to a severe shortage of priests. Catholic schools and churches built and maintained through the heroic sacrifice of faithful Catholics for their children and descendants have been closed.
The homosexual network has ignored and lied to the faithful Catholic parishioners. They have taken parishioners money under false pretenses and protected and promoted their fellow homosexuals who attempt to seduce the sons of the faithful into their perverted lifestyle.
All homosexuals must be thrown out of the church immediately. The homosexual network must be broken up. The faithful Catholics who struggle to support their families and live moral lives must no longer have their money taken to support the activities of this evil homosexual network that has infiltrated our church.
A married heterosexual clergy would put an end to most of this and help root out sodomy in the Church.
“A married heterosexual clergy would put an end to most of this and help root out sodomy in the Church.”
The vast majority of priests are not homosexuals. They are good men who sacrifice to help others. I would expel the homosexuals first.
I don’t oppose married priests but that is not the immediate need. The immediate need is to get rid of the homosexual network that protects and promotes each other.
I think the all male environment coupled with the policy of mandatory priestlt celibacy helped create the environment for all of this to happen. It helped drive away heterosexual priests.
Further, the policy of mandatory priestly celibacy is relatively new in the history of the Church. The first 40 or so popes were married men. Until about the 12th Century the overwhelming majority of priests and bishops were married.
The policy of mandatory priestly celibacy was implemented in the Middle Ages largely to combant rampant corruption in the Church, specifically nepotism. At the time, the policy made some sense. But it is certainly no longer needed today. Mandatory priestly celibacy contributed to the pedophile priest scandal and it drives away heterosexual candidates for the priesthood. In the East, in countries like Ukraine, Catholic priests are allowed to marry. And of course priests in the Orthodox Churches are allowed to marry. I see no reason why American Catholic priests should not be allowed to marry.
There is no “pedophile priest scandal”. This is anti-Catholic propaganda put out by the left and the homosexual community. The vast majority of the cases are homosexuals seducing boys in their mid to late teens who are recruited into the homosexual movement. There are almost no incidences of priests having sex with children.
This false charge is meant to support the argument that as long as homosexual priests don't have sex with little boys it is ok. The homosexuals attempt to seduce and recruit young men in their teens into the homosexual lifestyle.
The vast majority of priests are not homosexuals. But there is a homosexual network that works to protect each other.
You are correct. Although some of the victims were young girls, the overwhelming majority were teenage boys.
Allowing priests to marry could be a good long term solution. But the first priority must be expelling the members of the homosexual network.
I think a wholesome heterosexual environment in the rectories-—married priests with their wives and children living with them in a healthy wholesome environment would drive out the homosexuals pretty quickly.
WOW! That certainly makes the Roman Catholic Church look better! </sarc>
The vast majority of priests are good men who sacrifice for others. There is a small homosexual network who protect each other. The vast majority of Catholics are good people who work hard, support their families and do the difficult jobs that makes this country great.
Don’t attack everyone because of a small homosexual network that has infiltrated the church.
A heterosexual married clergy would at the very least, prevent the clergy from becoming a safe haven for homosexual offenders.
Dont attack everyone because of a small homosexual network that has infiltrated the church.
Nobody knows how big it is so it can't be definitively stated that it is a *small* network.
By all indications, for the wide ranging problem this has been for so long, it is not small.
And even if it were, there's STILL no excuse for the way it's been handled, or rather mishandled.
Source?
I have often heard in truth the majority of pedophile cases are against girls, in ANY population.
Point being, it seems everyone mostly worries about boys being abused, not girls. The way homosexuals (male, usually) in any given population are targeted for their crimes, but seems heterosexual abusers are not “popular”.
So priests could marry homo men?
My understanding is the Church didn’t want it’s properties broken up and reduced because of inheritance. Could be wrong, not a student of these things.
However, I think there is much to be said for celibacy. No family, no children to tend to. One gets wrapped up in one’ sown, rather than helping the whole flock. Definitely a distraction.
Problem is, it’s easy to attack the Catholic Church because it has a definitive structure.
Protestant churches do not have this structure at all, so it is nebulous and you don’t see or cannot easily point a finger at clergy in those groups. But it has happened in various denominations, just isn’t as obvious what to do, who to go to, whom to attack and demand accountability.
When will this end?
