There already is a wholesome heterosexual environment in most rectories, at least all the ones I have seen, The homosexual network is a small group that work together to promote and protect each other. I don't disagree with you, but the problem is not everywhere. It is a relatively small group that have resulted in huge cost to the faithful, Catholic families.
**A mandatory priestly celibacy is indeed a false doctrine**
Celibacy is not the problem causing molestation — haven’t you figured it out yet? It’s homosexuality.
My understanding is that during the middle ages parishioners would donate to the parish and then the heir to the pastor was legally entitled to take the money and items that had been donated and leave. The parishioners were left with nothing and churches were left insolvent. They wanted the money donated by the parishioners to stay in the parish, not be given to the children or wife of the pastor.
There is more abuse statistically among married men.
First, they know their victims, maybe a daughter or a niece.
Second, they are around them a lot — maybe teach middle school.
Third, they are coaches — might coach a girl’s basketball or softball team
Fourth, they are well known in the community — might even teach a Sunday School Class or be the youth minister.
So, a relative who is a teacher, who also coaches a sport’s team who also could be a youth minister.....Watch out!
Priests are way down on the list.

I know pastors in Evangelical churches who have been involved in garden variety adultery and have been removed from the pulpit and had their credentials pulled.
In most, if not all, the threads involving non-Catholic clergy and immorality, especially involving children or teens, the key words are *arrested*, *charged with*, and *in jail*.
Local congregations often take care of the matter themselves.
Not all non-Catholic churches are independent and not all non-Catholic denominations are without oversight. There is accountability within the different districts of some of the denominations.
False doctrine breeds corruption.
LOOK! Over there!!!
Don’t look at the man behind the curtain.
Glad you saw the Wizard of Oz.
What should have happened was each one of these child-molesting Priests escorted to the curb into the waiting arms of police. Again, more than 20 years ago!
That's the thing that burns me the most about the Chicago Archdiocese: they let the children suffer in agony while the Priests were simply re-assigned elsewhere only to commit their same heinous, disgusting acts against a whole new set of children.
Appalling. I have no other word for it.
I don’t think it would. I understand that Protestant denominations have the same or similar problems. And look at the sex abuse in public schools. Sadly, I don’t think there is a silver bullet.
The Church turned ‘em over??? Isn’t this like Obama investigating the IRS???
It is portrayed in the MSM as wide ranging affecting a great percentage of priests. That is not the case. In an organization as large as the Catholic Church there can be many people involved but still be only a small percentage overall. The cost and the burden these people put on the Catholic faithful is inexcusable. But most faithful Catholics would not put up with it for a second in their parish. I know I would not. Neither would my parents or other members of my family.
It is the story of a small percentage of the parish priests who were protected and moved from parish to parish to keep the faithful from finding out. Many of the homosexuals were not even parish priests. It is a small group of priests in seminaries, colleges and administrative positions.
The vast majority of priests are good men. They take their vocation seriously and their entire life is dedicated to sacrifice for others.
No one is more angry than I when these stories came out. I know it is families like mine who will end up paying for it. I know the church my family is part of has been infiltrated by evil.
But I also understand the scope. I see the good people almost every day. I only hear or read about the bad ones.
I appreciate your efforts, but not matter what some will join Christ’s enemies in attacking Catholics. It’s sorta what they do and how they came about.
