The Washington Post has produced six massively detailed maps showing the religious make-up of America. The main map is above if you want to enlarge it you'll have to click through to the Post's report here. The author/analyst, Niraj Chokshi, has uncovered some fascinating material most of it lurking in the 2010 US Religion Census (data submitted by congregations, not the official US Census) but so much more surprising set out in map form. And here's an example.
Did you know there are possibly now more religious Muslims than religious Jews in Florida? I know, it seems incredible. Miami Beach has had 15 Jewish mayors, there are getting on for 200 synagogues in South Florida and, of course, it was the hunting ground of the despicable Bernie Madoff. But here's a section from the map of Eastern states, grouped by region.............

When faced with remaining atheist or having their head below their feet, they’d become muslim post haste.
Bad leadership from bad people has consequences.
And those who have read “The Islamic Antichrist” or “God’s War on Terror” by Walid Shoebat will recognize this flourishing of Islam as particularly ominous. Strong ties to Islam therefore make a man a likely candidate to be THE Antichrist. Profound narcissism, love for sin, and complete lack of empathy sort of seals the deal. Those will all be characteristics of the Antichrist.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
We’ve also just finished the most profound “falling away” or apostasy in our history, as this article declares. So it appears that the prophetic way is clear for the Antichrist to be revealed.
im new here can someone explain why when i post an article that it takes forever to show up.

..you’re on double secret probation..watch your grades, no toga parties, and stay away from Neidermayer’s horse.
Good assessment. I live 80 miles down I-77 from you and we have Presbyterian Churches galore, but the Baptists are everywhere.

Take it for what it is. Figures don’t lie but liars can figure.
I see both the area I grew up in and the one I live in now are blue. But if they’re anything like the “Catholics” I knew back then, they’re probably non-observant.
Secret Probation? are you serious,am i really on probation
;)
The fact that they cite a ‘self reporting’ ‘poll’ from 21 states told me everything I needed to know.
The post is not my source for anything reliable
with you on that
An actual poll (though I am no fan of Pew methodology)
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/graphics/pew-religion-08/flash.htm
That shows 75% as being Christian followed by about 16% being unaffiliated ad the rest a scattering of whatever
I’ve been an atheist for a long time, one of the major reason people go to atheism is the freedom, atheism is a world where you don’t have to go to certain buildings on certain days, no dietary restrictions, no clothing problems. I don’t see any of us trading in that freedom for one of the most restrictive religions out there. And you can believe in all kinds of stuff and be an atheist, just not religion.
Most atheists are just atheists. There’s a small loud minority that’s anti-Christian, but the majority have better things to do with our time than worry about other people’s beliefs.
What do you mean?
You think it will be China?
I do think they are just happy having just gone to the moon and back, let alone go to military war with the USA.
I MEAN I’m just kidding you. Of COURSE you aren’t on double secret probation here, haven’t you ever seen Animal House? Welcome to FR. And don’t leave your sense of humor at the door! :)
