San Diego, CAIt was officially announced today that after 25 years, the largest lay-run Catholic apostolate for evangelization and apologetics in the United States Catholic Answers is closing its doors for good this May. The decision to shut down the apostolate was revealed on a live broadcast of The World Over with Raymond Arroyo last week when, during the break, Catholic Answers Founder and President Karl Keating was caught on a hot mic saying, Honestly, though, Im kinda over it. I mean, how many times during Lent do I have to be asked whether frog legs are considered meat? 63-year-old Keating spoke to the press after the interview and apologized to anyone he may have offended. Heres the thing
weve pretty much answered everything there is to answer. Simply put, weve run out of questions. The apostolate is expected to close its doors after releasing its final issue of Catholic Answers Magazine, in which the topic of the proper amount of incense required during a Chaldean Rite liturgy is discussed. Yup
thatll pretty much wrap it up, Keating said.
ummmm, well are they?
hoping this article is a joke...
Catholic Answers is a pretty good program and we will miss it if it isn’t on....
(you’d think there would be dozens of capable people lined up to take it over and carry it forward?)
It’s from Eye of the Tiber.
thought you’d appreciate this.
AH SO!
Thanks for that!
funny........
First Aquinas and More, now them.
Guy goes Huh. Turns of the computer and yells "Honey, what's on TV!"
Simply put, weve run out of questions.
Could you give me 'til 2014?
/s/ for snarky, snippy, sorry, sarcastic, silly, semiotic, snafu, shenanigans.../s/
..what?? leaving so soon???...and I was going to make espresso...
They could survive just on publishing articles defending evolution and attacking the credibility of the “old testament” alone.
Protesters Question Clergyman’s Loyalty
At Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence
Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning his loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.
The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney with offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans crossing the border illegally while thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.
A spokeswoman for the group, Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with i t on many issues including “amnesty” .
When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politican challanges the church on the grounds of faith and morals”

Couldn’t be true. Anti-Catholics of all stripes would declare a national holiday.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
Catholic Answers Live is a great radio show. On Friday they have on Robert Spencer talking about his new book on Islam: "Not Peace but a Sword."
A single group cannot do it: it gets repetitive.
Karl showed the pattern which others can follow, and they will. Job well done.
I would like to proudly point out that Catholic Answers is from lay people in San Diego. Other cool Catholic things led by lay people in San Diego:
1. The Goretti Group— a young adult group promoting chastity and knowledge of the Theology of the Body.
2. Whispering Winds— a Catholic Family camp, built and operated by Catholic lay people.
