I think poor Father Z is cracking up, bless his heart. Perhaps a little time off ...

What an eccentric performance.

The only way feminazis would be happy with the pope is if he announced that he had a sex-change operation 40 years ago and was a lesbian in disguise and would be ordaining lesbian priests and that gay men could become nuns, and that they could all marry each other or anyone or anything they wanted.

I am so glad the Fr. John gave the Pope a pass on the Angels! </sarcasm>

I get what Fr. Z is doing.

I think he may be overreacting, some, because he was previously worried about where Pope Francis is coming from, and he'd now decided that if Francis is talking about "Mothers," " he must be a reliably Catholic Catholic. He's reacting out of relief.

One other point: Fr. Z use a picture of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo and played them, in a sense, against the women witnesses of the Resurrection. (Actually, I'm not even sure whether he meant them as a contrast, or a parallel.) In either case, he should have at least explained who the Madres are.

Also from three audience:

” Unfortunately, there have often been attempts to obscure faith in the Resurrection of Jesus, and doubts have crept in even among believers themselves. A watered down faith, as we would say, not a strong faith. This is because of superficiality, sometimes because of indifference, occupied by a thousand things considered more important than the faith, or because of a purely horizontal vision of life.”

While not specifically about women, the sad fact is that a watered down faith is weak. Surprised that Father Z didn’t twig on that, as the assessment directly opposes today’s happy clappy version of Catholicism that springs from so many pulpits.

Why does he insist mothers have to march, in addition to everything else? Does he have any idea how difficult that is, when you’ve got nursing infants, children in diapers, the semi-toilet-trained ... ?

You come take over a month of my life, Father Z, and I’ll go march for stuff ... or get off my case.

Peter runs to the tomb, but stops before the empty tomb

That was John who did that. Peter ran slower, but went into the tomb.

So Catholics can stop the preemptive attacks on Pope Francis and accept that he is not going to deny the Real Presence nor is he going to endorse the ordaining of women priests...or any of the other misleading write-ups on him and...women can stop trying to be men.

Now, if we could only get men to stop trying to be women, we would really be making some headway.

"... y a su MADRE, VICTORIA!"

I'm a little loopy, myself.

(Let's see if anybody jumps in to gainsay that!)

**This tells us that God does not choose according to human criteria: the first witnesses of the birth of Jesus are the shepherds,[again, the first were really angels... but let that pass...] simple and humble people, the first witnesses of the Resurrection are women. This is beautiful, [this is fantastic!! Now wait for it...] and this is the mission of women, of mothers and women, [MOTHERS!] to give witness to their children and grandchildren that Christ is Risen! Mothers go forward with this witness! [MOTHERS!] What matters to God is our heart, if we are open to Him, if we are like trusting children. But this also leads us to reflect on how in the Church and in the journey of faith, women have had and still have a special role in opening doors to the Lord, in following him and communicating his face, because the eyes of faith always need the simple and profound look of love. [By being MOTHERS. He isn’t talking about Church ministry. Far from suggesting anything about leadership positions in ecclesiastical structures, Francis is talking about having babies and being strong Catholics.]**

Oh, yes and another “Wow!”

**Why does he insist mothers have to march**

I think he is calling all of us to evangelize. Marching is a wordless way to do it.

BTW, evangelization was the main topic of dynamo, new Archbishop Alexander Sample in Portland Oregon yesterday.

What an awesome thing it was to hear him, etc.

They had to pull down more bleachers at the University of Porland Chiles Cetner.....will we be in the Rose Garden arena next?

Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use feet.

Most women have an urge to try and remake their guy into what they think they want him to be and then they decide they don’t like him that way either. It’s just ridiculous. We need to get back to the old way of defining masculinity and women need to let and expect men to be masculine men. I’m so tired of pansy acting guys.

March at home sweatheart - around and around (like you are doing while soothing your kids physically and emotionally), so your kids live and breath it throughout their day.

When the kids are old enough to need to get out of the house once a week, march around the block where evangelization needs you (His feet and hands and image) most.

That’s what we do.

The point could be - men need convincing, we are the weaker, so He uses us as priests. Those women, one of which was sinless, didn’t run during the WaY of the Cross and believed as soon as told - too strong for the priest role, they’re needed for initial evangelization/instruction while the men are cowering and using their testosterone and dumb strength/thick skin to feed the congregation and hear confessions.

Only one of us can carry and have the kid and mother-bear love like that - the other HAS to do SOMETHING special!
