Ping.
Some people are simply the sworn enemies of fun.
Next Tuesday is Election Day, let all Romney voters -- people voting for a temple Mormon who portends to be a competing "god" to THE God, sanction idol worship by voting for a guy who thinks he's a "god-in-embryo!"
But obviously, there ARE people who will completely go off the deep end on this, instead of understanding the difference between THIS description above and people who celebrate it as a religious holiday, even though the VAST majority of people, especially in the USA don't even know it is religious, and there is nothing underlying the activities that would even make someone think it is religious.
In this case, it seems puzzling because the author doesn't seem to be able to (or want to) differentiate between the two, even though he spells out the difference.
Oh, well.
“Xtian”? The writer must be a Christophobe.
But without Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they will meet him as Sovereign and it wont matter what tribe they’re from or what laws they tried not to break.
I pray they come to the knowledge of that saving grace of Jesus Christ and choose Him.
Amen.
This is really sad. I knew Americans and Christians could exhibit ignorant, bigoted and hateful thoughts. Now I see Jews want in on that action too.
I can’t believe the days of Bobbing for Dreidels and Pin the Tail on the Yarmulke are long gone.
Can anybody live in Israel and really not know that Christmas exists?
In before the “No thanks”.
“In other words, my son, thank G-d, is growing up to be a Jew without any foreign Xtian pollution.....”
Wow! Israel & its cosmopolitan culture wouldn’t be good enough for you, except maybe for those ultra-Orthodox who hurl rocks at women in miniskirts.
Not at all surprising for people who tolerate abortion, eh?!
Now, about the arguments you have advanced 'cause you know that when you bring in one of these deals it's like you've already bought into it or you wouldn't bring it in.
You sly devil you (using an idiomatic expression to throw you off base) you know very well every point of Jewish law is in dispute by some authority at some time in history if not at this moment, and there are literally thousands of advocates for even the slightest perception of difference between one outlook and another.
So, who is your authority so that we can get someone in here who can throw a different authority at you?
No sense debating this in a vacuum ~
“my son, thank G-d, is growing up to be a Jew without any foreign Xtian pollution”
To those Jews who believe they are better than every non-Jew, and do not want “Christian pollution”, I truly wish you would return to Isreal.
I think most of the Orthodox families that did participate in trick or treating, and celebrating Halloween did so because they did not recognize it as having religious origins.
But I suppose that it would be covered by Halacha, as was pointed out.

Good post.
The author of the posted article was talking to Jewish people. IMO, it’s also a good message for Noachide followers like myself. We believe in only One G-d, with no partners, associates, other additives or piles of metaphors about the issue. That’s the First Law for us all (of the Seven Noachide Laws).
Zionist Conspirator: isn’t it true, that we have no commandment to proselytize to or convert Chr*stians or others who believe in multiple deities, associates, whatever? At the same time, some of them shouldn’t be so pushy, publicly insulting and threatening about their Greco-Roman/European religion.
As for the USA, the first Americans (Puritans and other real Protestants) rejected Halloween and other beliefs of official European religion. There are also the First Amendment and various declarations from the first Americans against European religious edicts (see English Civil War, other conflicts).
?????
Several times each year, the Religion forum serves to reaffirm Deism as having been the right choice.
On the other hand, if you try to safeguard our distinction as Jews and not let your children go Trick or Treating with all the other kids in the neighborhood, theres a good chance that they will grow up hating both you and Judaism for turning them into freaks in the eyes of their friends. Either way, as a Jewish parent, you lose.
LOL - funny post - thanks for sharing...
Sadly, articles like these destroy Jewish-Christian relations and play into the false image of them saying " Xtian pollution," -- articles like this serve no purpose except to drive a wedge.
Now there's some good, logical advice! /sarc
