Dr Susannah Cornwall claimed that it is simply a best guess that Jesus was male.
Her comments, which are bound to provoke fury in some quarters, were published in response to the ongoing debate about women bishops in the Church of England. Dr Cornwall, of Manchester Universitys Lincoln Theological Institute, describes herself on her blog as specialising in: Research and writing in feminist theology, sexuality, gender, embodiment, ethics and other fun things like that.
In her paper Intersex & Ontology, A Response to The Church, Women Bishops and Provision, she argues that it is not possible to know with any certainty that Jesus did not suffer from an intersex condition, with both male and female organs.
In an extraordinary paper she says: It is not possible to assert with any degree of certainty that Jesus was male as we now define maleness.
There is no way of knowing for sure that Jesus did not have one of the intersex conditions which would give him a body which appeared externally to be unremarkably male, but which might nonetheless have had some hidden female physical features.

Just when ya think that things can’t get any wackier BOOM!
Ya know, the Bible doesn’t specifically say that Jesus wasn’t 900 feet tall. Maybe Oral Roberts had it right all along.....
Well, I have two comments about this.
1) This is what passes for scholarship, not just now but for at least as long as I have been reading about theological. I suspect it has been going on for a lot longer. Make a statement and back it up with....nothing.
2) Say it were so, what’s the point she’s trying to make?
Under Cornwall’s approach, Jesus could have been a shape shifting alien or a leftist loon pseudo academic, also.
Of course, if you were to find irrefutable proof of the resurrection, say, the say goodbye to your professorial career. You'll be lucky to be a dish-washer

Crucifiction was meant to humiliate and teach others a lesson on what will happen if you defy Rome. I have read that people were crucifies naked to make it even more humiliating. I would imagine someone would have noticed if Jesus were not a male.
From Wikipedia:” writings by Seneca the Younger suggest that victims were crucified completely nude.” This tells me what kind of research she must have done...or didn’t do.

Why don’t you just ask Him?
He’ll Walk with you and Talk with you
Academics have to one-up each other in order to get attention.
I’m pretty sure Jesus is big enough to deal with it.
Forget the sarcasm, there’s better places to shoot your guns.
Sooner or later she’ll learn that it’s not wise to mock God.
And from what I can deduce it is impossible to tell if this ‘professor’ has a brain since there is no brain to examine......./s(did I have to add that?)
RE: And from what I can deduce it is impossible to tell if this professor has a brain since there is no brain to examine.
“You’ve got the brain of a four-year-old boy, and I’ll bet he was glad to get rid of it.” (Grouch Marx, 1933)
What it is, is that they, deep down inside KNOW there is a God. They KNOW there is one more powerful than they. Yet, they are too "small" to admit it. AND, they know they are going to pay for their sins. They are just cowards.
When these people tell me there is no God, I tell them: "you'd better be right." Simple as that.
Sometimes one can only shake ones head at the utter blasphemous stupidity of what liberal “theologians” come up with. There is not a single shred of Biblical or extra-Biblical contemporary evidence that can even begin to support this outrageous nonsense, hence the unprovable negative she posits. Another shining example of where the humanist presuppositions dictate what her theology is, and it is most assuredly not Biblical in any sense.
