Former Mormon to Joel Osteen: "Shame on You"
Worldview Times ^ | 10-28-2011 | Ed Decker

Dear Pastor Joel Osteen, Shame on You!

I have just watched your remarks regarding Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith, recorded on video.

http://www.onenewsnow.com/Church/Default.aspx?id=1465166

Shame on you! You have given the enemies of the Cross a great victory. Either through sheer ignorance of the Word or your apparent desire to never offend anyone, regardless of their sins, you have handed the Mormons a huge PR gift. You have insulted and denigrated the many former Mormons like me who have spent their lives bringing Mormons the truth and to the Real Jesus, who died for their sins on Calvary. You have defined our ministries and my life's work as worthless.

You emphatically state: The Mormons are Christian. Are you completely ignorant of the fact that the Mormons have taught as a foundational doctrine that the creeds of all the Christian churches are abominations in the Mormons' god's sight?

What kind of research or study did you undertake before you made this foolish and unbiblical utterance? Did you check with Pastor Jeffress, a godly, Christian pastor? Or with Mitt Romney, a man working out his own godhood? Or did you just toss this out from your own lack of knowledge or as some sort of sweet sound bite?

Are you totally unaware that they have taught in their sacred temples for over a century that you and all other Christian pastors are corrupt hirelings of Satan, that you and your church are part of the great and abominable church and the whore of all the earth?

Did you not know that Mormonism teaches a restorationist theology, stating that the gates of hell did prevail against the Church and teaching that all power and authority were lost until God chose Joseph Smith to be his holy prophet to restore all things and lead

Joel Osteen is a whitewashed apostate ecumenist. I don’t see why anyone expected any different.

I think Romney lacks what it takes to be a Christian. You can’t call yourself a Christian and sign in to law gay marriage and be supportive of laws that kill countless unborn. You can’t call yourself a Christian and just pick and choose what makes you feel good or avoid what is “controversial”. His own Church, the Mormon Church, being pro-family and pro-life are against gay marriages, civil unions and the systematic destruction of the human spirit, soul and the collapse of the human family and moral values.

Don't you know that Mitt Romney is a man who is earning his own godhood and plans to people his own planet?

And not only that, he plans on peopling it only with people who voted for him -- libs who want socialized medicine and and cradle to grave nanny state in general.

Mormonism never has been “Christian”.

Joel Osteen is hardly a credible message bearer ... He is a feel good merchandiser.

YEARS ago, in 1890, even the United States Supreme Court had the COURAGE to strike down polygamy because THAT was a “revelation” of Joseph Smith -the founder of Mormonism.l

United States Supreme Court 1890, in the case of The Church of the Latter Day Saints v. United States, 136 U.S. 1 (1890), forbade the practice of polygamy in the United States stating:

It is contrary to the spirit of Christianity and the civilization which Christianity has produced in the Western world

By their fruits, you shall know them.....Romney and Bambi are NO Christians. That is so obvious by what they have done and said. Moral Relativists are NOT Christians. There is Objective Truth in Christianity—One standard of Right and Wrong. They claim evil is good and a “right”.

Worldview matters and theirs is a socialist/marxist/atheist/mother gaia evil ideology. Nothing Christian about it.

"Mormons believe in the Jesus of the Bible, the same that was born at Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, preached His gospel in Galilee and Judea, healed the sick, raised the dead, and finally offered Himself as a sinless ransom for the sins of the world. They believe that Jesus Christ was literally resurrected, that He lives today, and that He is the only name under heaven by which mankind can be saved.
This is the Jesus whose name is depicted on the front of every Mormon place of worship. This is the Jesus in whose name every Mormon prays and every sermon is preached. This is the Jesus whose body and blood are commemorated in weekly worship services by Latter-day Saints from Nigeria to New Zealand, from Michigan to Mongolia. For Latter-day Saints who try to live their lives as they believe Jesus taught, assertions that they aren’t Christian are as bewildering as they are wounding."

Mormans are not Christians. Christians do not change the Bible. There is no mention of “prophet” Joe Smith in the Holy Bible. Joel Osteen, with no theology training whatsover, is a glorified Amway salesman.

I wouldn't blame Mitt's Mormonism for being a “relative values” preacher. Mormonism is simply NOT Christian.

You can actually be an atheist and be PRO life, PRO Capital punishment, want smaller government and stick to the Constitution etc..

Mitt's problem though is his Mormonism and even worse is his PERSONAL “relativism” and being a POLICY MANAGER. Mitt has NO CLUE about small and medium sized businesses. His tax policy is the SAME as Obama’s that will KILL small and medium sized businesses.

Mitt ONLY relates to LARGE BUSINESSES. Mitt has only managed LARGE bureaucratic establishments and he wants to MANAGE the government and NOT transform it. Mitt is a policy wonk. We don't need that. We need someone who will take government to a wood chucker and grind it up till we get back to what is Constitutional.

Mr. Osteen’s response to this commentary: “I’m not sure where the financial upside is in what you’re telling me.”

“Mormons believe in a different Jesus than described in the Bible, they believe he was the physical offspring of 2 gods, used to be a man, and earned his divinity. They believe in different levels of “glory” and that belief in Jesus alone doesn’t get one to the highest level. In order to obtain the highest level, one must be declared “Temple worthy” by a Mormon bishop, which requires obdeience to many ordiances. The ultimate goal of Mormons is to progress to godhood for themselves.

This is the Jesus, who Mormons believe is another god to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Mormons don’t really worship Jesus, but pray through his name.

Mormons should’nt be suprised that traditional Christians don’t accept MormonISM, because Mormonism was founded on the premise that all of traditional Christianity was false and apostate. The founder of Mormonism, who was a serial adulterer and false prophet, taught radically different views from traditionally Christianity. It’s only recently due to a PR campaign that Mormons want to be called “Christians”. Previously, they were satisfied with not being considered along the same lines as traditional Christianity”

Fixed for you.

Lipstick - pig

This is the Jesus whose body and blood are commemorated in weekly worship services

Wonder bread and water

. . . . and that He is the only name under heaven by which mankind can be saved.

After all they can do - completely living in accordance with all the ordiances and laws and completely sinless - only then can they be 'saved'.

"Mormons believe in the Jesus of the Bible. .

Former lds prophet hinkley stated that the mormon Jesus is not the same as the Jesus of Christianity.

For Latter-day Saints who try to live their lives as they believe Jesus taught, assertions that they aren’t Christian are as bewildering as they are wounding."

Trying to earn exaltation by the works of the flesh. Jesus never taught temple ordiances, baptism for the dead, polygamy, priesthoods, racism, etc. In fact is Jesus would show up today at a stakehouse, the elders there would probably rebuke him for his long hair.

Bewildered because they have followed the false teaching of self indulgent men over the bible.

United States Supreme Court 1890, in the case of The Church of the Latter Day Saints v. United States, 136 U.S. 1 (1890), forbade the practice of polygamy in the United States
_________________________________________

ROFLMBO

The Late Corporation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints v. United States, 136 U.S. 1 (1890) was a Supreme Court case that upheld the Edmunds-Tucker Act on May 19, 1890. Among other things, the act disincorporated The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

Chief Justice Fuller’s dissent asserted that though Congress has the power to criminalize polygamy, “it is not authorized under the cover of that power to seize and confiscate the property of persons, individuals, or corporations, without office found, because they may have been guilty of criminal practices.”[1]

The ruling in Late Corporation would have directed federal escheat of substantially all the property of the legally disincorporated LDS Church, which was estimated at $3 million. Following the decision, the U.S. Attorney for Utah Territory reported seizing only $381,812 in assets.[2] Real property, including LDS temples, was never seized although the ruling authorized it. Within five months, the LDS Church officially discontinued the practice of plural marriage with the 1890 Manifesto. On October 25, 1893, a congressional resolution authorized the release of assets seized from the LDS Church because, “said church has discontinued the practice of polygamy and no longer encourages or gives countenance to any manner of practices in violation of law, or contrary to good morals or public policy.”[3]

Paul Harvey says:

They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices.
Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols.
To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did.
