I know what it is to have a father in advancing years and deteriorating health. My father just liked having us present around him, hearing our voices, knowing we were saying Psalms for him, holding his hand.
You're there. It counts for a lot.

His skin has been so tender the past few months, I couldn’t pat his shoulder and no way to hug a person laying down so I’ve put my hand in his like a handshake when I could as I leave. But now he often too sore for that.
