Of course Pelosi is in good standing. So was Ted “the swimmer” Kennedy. There is no discernment and no gonads in this Church hierarchy.

“Favoring “civil unions” is the same as favoring “same-sex ‘marrage’”, so that analysis doesn’t wash.”

I agree. But that was all I could find in the news about this. Consider the source; USA Today.

btw. I have been a freeper for a long time but lately some freepers just do not get it when a freeper posts a news article for comments but yet they get their undies in a twist assuming that the freeper that posted the news article agrees with it. Anyway your response is the correct one done in a sane and thoughtful manner expressing your opinion and not just slamming the poster of the news article which may or may not be bad or good news.

Anyway just my personal view of what is happening to FR these days.

Any suggestions on how to post an article to a thread without the usual freepers living in moms basement replying to the news article post as though it was actually written and agreed with by the freeper that posted it? :)

“Warning, this post has nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with bigotry. All Catholic and Orthodox Catholic posters, as well as all Christians of good will, are advised to avoid such threads as they are here to generate hate, not the love of Christ.”

The thing is if you asked these same Catholics what does your Church think of same sex marriage I would bet 100% know that the Church does not and nver will go for it. Protestants on the other hand would know that many of the Protestant Churches already support same sex marriage to the chargrin of a lot of Protestants!

It’s a pretty sad state either way!

Majority of Catholics voted for Obama too.

Liberalism is the root of all evil.

“Majority of Catholics aren’t Catholic.”

Majority of Catholics aren’t Christians either - by the standards of the Holy Bible.

Among many things they do that are against God’s Word (the Pope just recently used a Hindu prayer), Catholics engage in witchcraft (praying to dead saints and statues). They also worship Mary instead of CHRIST as the mediator between man and God, despite the Holy Bible clearly stating...”For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the Man CHRIST JESUS.” (1 TIM 2:5)

Their support of this evil does not surprise me.

“What Bible are they reading?”

NONE!

Romans 1:18-32

” 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. “

It shows the ignorance of Christians in today’s pop culture world of sound bites and perceptions. They are being conditioned and brainwashed by media and public schools to believe homosexuality is “good” and “noble” and “genetic”. All lies. It is severe disfunction and perversion of nature that is intrinsically disordered and a sin.

The marketing began in earnest in 1990. That psychological atheist conditioning in schools actively embraced the homosexual agenda.

http://www.article8.org/docs/gay_strategies/after_the_ball.htm

Christian churches allowed the lies to take root in the young because is sounded so “mean” to contradict the political correctness....the lies. Churches refused to label sins as sin.

Cultural Marxists (Naked Communitst) states one way to destroy morality in the people is to promote perversion as normal....it is to create chaos and destroy the culture from within—pit groups against groups. Just like the Marxists have used feminism to make women hate men and children. It is to divide and destroy the Christian religion and the natural family—the bedrock of Western Civilization for thousands of years which made it superior to the East.

Assuming sound methodology, 3000 people is much more than necessary for a very accurate poll.

you beat me to it... media and labels... when is a Catholic really a Catholic?... when is a man a man or when is a woman a woman...?
homosexuality is a BEHAVIOR that will cause more harm to the human race than war... it is NOT genetic... it can be controlled like any other adverse intent... such as being prone to an addiction of any sort
it is not to be condoned but rather to be seen a something that can be corrected...
the homosexual agenda is evil... it destroys people, it is bloody and is a one way ticket to Hell...
am I being politically correct on this or what?

I am a Protestant. Admittedly for only 6 years but I have no knowledge of any respected Protestant churches that support the abomination known as gay “marriage.”

The thing is if you asked these same Catholics what does your Church think of same sex marriage I would bet 100% know that the Church does not and nver will go for it.

Well that's what your church says in public with an obvious wink here and there...

But look...These people are card carrying members of your Catholic religion...They are counted as members of your religion, they receive the cracker from your religion and your religion accepts their money...

What your religion says and what it does are two different things...

I don't envy you having to try to defend your religion all the time...

I really have to question these claims. During the electon cycle I always made a point after mass to walk the parking lot to look for 0bama bumper stickers and I never once spotted one at my parish and our priest seemed to give more pro life, conservtative homilies.

Unless our midwestern, fly over parishes are vastly outnumbered by the coastal parishes.

As with contraception before homosexuality, and divorce before contraception, there are those who believe morality is dependent upon whatever the popular culture says.

The Church knows it has no authority to change God’s moral law. While I do believe the Church can do a much better job of catechizing it’s members, it cannot be held responsible for those who think morality is subject to popular vote.
