Lately, there seems to be a lot of conflict on the religion forum. Much of this has been between Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox. To show that we are all united as Christians and to reduce animosity, I hope we can all agree to one of 4 following statements:
1) I am Catholic. I love Orthodox and Protestant Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.
2) I am Protestant. I love Orthodox and Catholic Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians and Catholics to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.
3) I am an Orthodox Christian. I love Catholic and Protestant Christians. I consider Catholics and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.
4) I am a non-believer. I love Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.
I feel confident that most freepers agree to at least one of these statements, even if they do not say so.
If you agree with any of these statements, please feel free to say so.
Thanks!
What hath light to do with darkness?
No, it is too far along to be made non-antagonistic
I am planning to be gone during Lent also, though may come occasionally come to drink from the streams of the devotional threads. I am listening to what I believe to be a call to “wait here and keep awake with Him” (Matt.26:38) rather than being in front of the computer.
May the Lord bless you richly in this time of grace.

You know, of course, that both Catholics and Protestants consider Joseph Smith to be a false prophet, right?
Yes, Islam is an expression of the Enemy Satan. As is the religion conceived by Joseph Smith to supplant biblical Christianity.
But we can, on a political level, resist Islam. Mormons don’t try to kill us.
None of the 4 options are appropriate.
The only requirement for salvation is after receiving the call, is to believe or exercise faith in Christ and what He performed on the Cross.
Any believer might be a member of any of the denominations mentioned, or simply nondenominational.
The real challenge is to remain in faith in Christ in all things,...keeping our accounts short, continually praying to Him.
When is the last time any reader of this post, thought things through faith in Christ, vice by his/her personal soul, but instead through Christ?
“Christians are called to spread the Gospel. That is the cure for all the bogeymen you listed, not mortal combat.”
I never considered a video game to be the cure for all the bogeymen I listed.
Why do you call them bogeymen? They are definitely real threats.
Would that be a part or an example of postmodern liberalism?
Town hall style open threads have always been raucous. Its how free speech sounds. Sometimes it isnt pretty, but there is nothing to be gained and much to be lost in silencing it.
If thats not to your preference, stick to the ecumenical, devotional and caucus threads. Thats how freedom of religion and association sounds.
ABSOLUTELY INDEED.
EXTREMELY WELL PUT.
THX.

They’re free to consider whatever they want to consider. I’m free to worship God and Jesus Christ as I see fit. Christ will judge me, not any other man.
Thank you
I love everybody. Regardless.
It is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me.
I love those who have Christ living in them and I love those who don’t have Christ living in them.
There are lost folks sitting in church. There are true believers sitting in church. Whether that church is brand A, brand B, or brand C.
I am not going to rubber stamp any of the churches, regardless of brand.
It’s an individual thing. A matter of the heart.
I go to the Lord Jesus every single day, He lives in me, I live in Him. He is the One changing me into His image. I try to cooperate. Sometimes I blow it. Sometimes I yield to His ways.
Megadittos, amen.
What does salvation have to do with my post?
Those who reject salvation are not Christian. Christianity isn’t denominationalism, it’s a spiritual walk through faith in Christ. The object of thinking for the believer is in Christ, not through any other.
Nevertheless, the truth remains that Joseph Smith has deceived many away from biblical Christianity. There can be no “Christian unity” between Christians and those who follow the false teachings of Joseph Smith et al.
I’m not being divisive; I’m simply identifying existing, insurmountable division.
It may seem that relations between different groups of Christians are insurmountable. It may also seem that relations between Islam and Christianity is insurmountable. Jesus Christ doesn't consider anything insurmountable:
Mar 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
So we can have the attitude that we will always be separate and consign everyone else to a fate different than ours....or we can believe that Jesus Christ has a plan to bring together all those whom he calls. Whether he does this before his return or after matters little...our attitude should be the same.
