Have you ever wondered why one of the Ten Commandments seems null and void notably the one calling on believers to observe the Sabbath?
Ask your pastor or priest and you will probably hear it's because Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday... (or because the disciples broke bread on Sunday morning--after a daylong sermon that extended into the night hours the preceding Sabbath Day)
And then there's the little problem of this switch of worship days not being mentioned in the Bible and the historical fact that most Christians continued observing the Sabbath for hundreds of years after Jesus rose from the dead.
So what happened? What caused the switch?

LOL - you should read the history of the Roman calendar. There was a time where 61 days of the year in winter were not assigned to any month. From wiki:
The calendar year lasted 304 days and there were about 61 days of winter which were not assigned to any month.[3] The later months were named based on their position in the calendar

Are we there yet ? Yep.
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Matt. 26:28)
The blood of the Lamb of God has been shed, so the new covenant must be here. Theology 101.

Hebrews 8:13How do you read: NAU Hebrews 8:11 "AND THEY SHALL NOT TEACH EVERYONE HIS
FELLOW CITIZEN, AND EVERYONE HIS BROTHER, SAYING,
'KNOW THE LORD,' FOR ALL WILL KNOW ME, FROM THE LEAST
TO THE GREATEST OF THEM.
The writer of Hebrews is quoting Jeremiah 31:34. If we are at the New covenant,
we would not need to have this discussion. No ?

We’re at the new covenant because the writer of Hebrews says we are at a new covenant thanks to “Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel.”

Could you kindly address my question in 248 It is clear that the sacrifice of the Lamb of G-d covers
sin for all who will call on the NAME of YHvH for salvation.
However we still teach each other and not
all from the highest to the lowest know YHvH.
So how do you read Hebrews 8:11 ?

And who do you suppose Saturday was named after?
It was named after Saturn, which incidentally is also a Roman god, aka Cronos or Marduk.
However, my reference to this was to raise the point that Sunday was historically a day of pagan worship, exclusively for the sun god or goddess's...
Ezekiel warned there would come a time when the priesthood or "Christian" church leaders would not look to God nor His Word on this issue, but would rather follow pagan traditions and rituals, ultimately incorporating them into the popular Christian beliefs:
Eze 8:16 NIV - He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.

historical note -- while Saturn may be the Latin equivalent of the Greek Titan Cronos; Marduk was not the same and the mythology is quite different.

you won't get an answer, Uri -- the Orthodo Presbyterian C(OPC) to which Dr. Eck belongs to believes that the old Covenant has been replaced.
The OPC believes that the Jewish sonship, glory, covenant, etc have been removed and given to the followers of Calvin.
This is contradictory to Rom 11:29
29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. |
But don't try arguing this with the OPC, they are stuck in their beliefs

Actually, that is one of the few things the adventists got right. Farah holds to the first century standards of Christian worship.
ooh, ooh -- so you agree with the Adventists on this, eh?

Sadly, Roman Catholics seek to sow discord wherever they go.
What day does the Roman Catholic church celebrate as the Sabbath, Cronos?

Does the Roman Catholic church believe we are living now during the New Covenant instituted by Christ as taught to us in Hebrews, Cronos?

Don't try to obfuscate -- the Orthodo Presbyterian C(OPC) to which you belong to believes that the old Covenant has been replaced.
The OPC believes that the Jewish sonship, glory, covenant, etc have been removed and given to the followers of Calvin.
Why do you believe this?

The OPC believes that the Jewish sonship, glory, covenant, etc have been removed and given to the followers of Calvin. And the Church of Rome believes the same of itself.
To: Dr. Eckleburg; UriÂ’el-2012
I leave it to you guys in the Orthodo Presbyterian Cult to sow discord whereever you go -- and you do it quite well:
Proof:
- They post threads stating that ;John Wesley preached the Gospel of Satan"
- The OPC members state openly that they believe their version of Calvinism = Christianity and the rest of the Protestants (forget about orthodoxy) are not Christians.
- They state openly that to the PCA / OPC Pentecostals, are really no different from the Roman Catholics
- The same poster, Dr. Eckleburg says this about the LCMS The liberal church teaching of free will has infected the Lutherans, too, in contradiction to what Martin Luther taught from Scripture
- They preach like Spurgeon, that Calvinism is just another name for Christianity
- Their doctrinal website states that Pentecostals, Methodists, etc. are all damnable heretics
- From the OPC doctrines, their doctrinal website: "Christians should not celebrate the Seder or other Jewish festivals. "
- And they believe that Jewish sonship, glory, covenant, etc have been removed and given to the followers of Calvin.
It seems pretty apparent that the modus operandi of the OPC is to hate everyone else.
