It was named after Saturn, which incidentally is also a Roman god, aka Cronos or Marduk.

hey -- you didn't ping me in reference ;-P

historical note -- while Saturn may be the Latin equivalent of the Greek Titan Cronos; Marduk was not the same and the mythology is quite different.

Oops, I got my gods mixed up... That is the most obvious problem with polytheism... how do you keep track of all of them? ;-p
