Glenn Beck's Remarks About Soros And The Holocaust 'Offensive And Over The Top'
ADL ^ | November 11, 2010

Posted on 11/11/2010 8:54:40 PM PST by Pope Pius XII

New York, NY, November 11, 2010 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today criticized as "completely inappropriate and offensive" remarks by Glenn Beck on his radio and television programs, in which he inaccurately connected George Soros, who was then a young boy, to the actions of others in sending Jews to death camps during the Holocaust.

On his November 10 radio show, Beck described how Soros, who was born in Hungary to Orthodox Jewish parents, "used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off. And George Soros was part of it. He would help confiscate the stuff. It was frightening. Here's a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps."

It’s only offensive if it is a lie. Is Beck’s description true?

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/george-soros-on-helping-the-nazis-during-the-holocaust

“Mr. SOROS: Well, of course I c–I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was–well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets–that if I weren’t there–of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would–would–would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the–whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the–I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.

Of course most of us here are already aware of Mr. Soros’ highly questionable actions during the Nazi occupation. (Though the public at large undoubtedly has a different perspective, if they know anything about his earlier days at all.)

But the statements he made in this interview to my mind are quite chilling. He forgives himself everything. He says that if he hadn’t done it somebody else would have.

All of which would seem to indicate that Mr. Soros has no conscience. A lack of conscience is said to be a common symptom of sociopaths.”

First he worked for the Judenrat. That was the Jewish council set up by the Nazis to do their dirty work for them. Instead of the Nazis rounding up Jews every day for the trains, they delegated that murderous task to Jews who were willing to do it to survive another day at the expense of their neighbours.

Theodore hatched a better plan for his son. He bribed a non-Jewish official at the agriculture ministry to let George live with him. George helped the official confiscate property from Jews.

By collaborating with the Nazis, George survived the Holocaust. He turned on other Jews to spare himself.

George moved to London after the war and then to New York, where he became a stockbroker. He’s rich now. Forbes magazine says he’s the 35th richest man in the world. Maybe you’ve heard of him. He goes by the name his father invented: George Soros.

How does Soros feel about what he did as a teenager? Has it kept him up at night?

Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes asked him that. Was it difficult? “Not at all,” Soros answered.

“No feeling of guilt?” asked Kroft. “No,” said Soros. “There was no sense that I shouldn’t be there. If I wasn’t doing it, somebody else would be taking it away anyhow. Whether I was there or not. So I had no sense of guilt.”

A Nazi would steal the Jews’ property anyways. So why not him?

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director and a Holocaust survivor could not be more wrong if he tried.

Obviously, he didn’t want to report the truth about Glenn’s documented program today or the truth about the sociopathic monster, George Soros.

I wonder why?

On his TV show he has used numerous video clips of Soros' own words documenting everything. Perhaps someone at the ADL could take the time to actually know what the hell they are talking about? I don't hold my breath!

The ADL seems to have become the very caricature of self-haters.

Abe Foxman is defending a Jew who worked for the Nazis? That doesn’t really surprise me.

Here's the statement:

Glenn Beck's description of George Soros' actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top. For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say – inaccurately – that there's a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that's horrific.

While I, too, may disagree with many of Soros' views and analysis on the issues, to bring in this kind of innuendo about his past is unacceptable. To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.

The Holocaust was a horrific time, and many people had to make excruciating choices to ensure their survival. George Soros has been forthright about his childhood experiences and his family's history, and there the matter should rest.

My humble opinion is that this was solicited by Media Matters. While the intro to the statement claims that Beck inaccurately connected Soros to the Nazis, I believe that is the untruthful statement. We have seen Soros admit his involvement ... indeed, even calling the year in question as the best year of his life.

I would not be surprised if ADL issued this garbage without even seeing the show. Glenn's point was not what Soros did, but his lack of any remorse or compassion for those who were hurt financially if not killed.

I'm Jewish and I find this ADL statement "repugnant." Go Glenn!

That he feels no guilt is disturbing.

The ADL racists and bigots will never attack non-observant Jews like Soros.

They will defend him to the death even if it means exposing their own anti-American biases and total ignorance of facts.

Yes. When he was 14 Soros helped the Nazi confiscate property from Jews who were then sent on the to ovens, when asked in later years if he regretted taking place in that activity, Soros said he did not.

A 14 yr would not feel guilty given the circumstances. An old man should.

That he doesn’t is pure EVIL.

And, he (adult Soros) said that was one of the best years of his life.

Why is the ADF not "offended" by that statement?
