It’s only offensive if it is a lie. Is Beck’s description true?

On his TV show he has used numerous video clips of Soros' own words documenting everything. Perhaps someone at the ADL could take the time to actually know what the hell they are talking about? I don't hold my breath!

Here's the statement:

Glenn Beck's description of George Soros' actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top. For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say – inaccurately – that there's a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that's horrific.

While I, too, may disagree with many of Soros' views and analysis on the issues, to bring in this kind of innuendo about his past is unacceptable. To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.

The Holocaust was a horrific time, and many people had to make excruciating choices to ensure their survival. George Soros has been forthright about his childhood experiences and his family's history, and there the matter should rest.

My humble opinion is that this was solicited by Media Matters. While the intro to the statement claims that Beck inaccurately connected Soros to the Nazis, I believe that is the untruthful statement. We have seen Soros admit his involvement ... indeed, even calling the year in question as the best year of his life.

I would not be surprised if ADL issued this garbage without even seeing the show. Glenn's point was not what Soros did, but his lack of any remorse or compassion for those who were hurt financially if not killed.

I'm Jewish and I find this ADL statement "repugnant." Go Glenn!

That he feels no guilt is disturbing.

May he rot.

Yes. When he was 14 Soros helped the Nazi confiscate property from Jews who were then sent on the to ovens, when asked in later years if he regretted taking place in that activity, Soros said he did not.

See:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Soros

Soros was thirteen years old in March 1944 when Nazi Germany occupied Hungary.[15] Soros worked for the Jewish Council,[7] which had been established during the Nazi occupation of Hungary to forcibly carry out Nazi and Hungarian government anti-Jewish measures.[16][17] Soros later described this time to writer Michael Lewis:

The Jewish Council asked the little kids to hand out the deportation notices. I was told to go to the Jewish Council. And there I was given these small slips of paper...It said report to the rabbi seminary at 9 a.m....And I was given this list of names. I took this piece of paper to my father. He instantly recognized it. This was a list of Hungarian Jewish lawyers. He said, “You deliver the slips of paper and tell the people that if they report they will be deported.”[18]

Regardless, this Evil Bastard is the worst enemy America and the West has today - bar none.

I'm not a Beck fan, don't get a chance to watch his show but my wife is and does. In addition to what I've been reading on the 'net that Beck has been saying, and things my wife has told me, I'd bet willing to bet a hefty sum that anything that Beck has been saying about Soros has been vetted by Fox News' lawyers and required months and months of research be validated before they ever let him put his claims on the air.

If it weren't true you could bet Soros would be suing the crap out of Fox News already for the things Beck has said to date. If Beck were stating something untrue, I'd expect Soros to own Fox News in a court settlement.

I don't see that happening.
