" Speak " your faith into Substance ! (Charismatic caucus)
The Joshua Chronicles ^ | Jeff kingshott

Posted on 10/15/2010 10:48:44 AM PDT by Jedediah

We are and must be the living matter and substance of the kingdom of God and this must remain active in a constant manner ! \o/ for your discernment . . .

Let Me be all that matters in your life for it is in this place dreams turn into reality , visions begin to walk before your very eyes , as your words put My creation into motion for "truly" as Elijah stopped the rain and waited for the clouds return in faith , "truly" I shall do greater exploits through my children that become My AMOS ( A Matter Of Substance ) for Me and My Kingdoms expansion for my time is near and you are the tent pegs that I expand through .

So "speak" My Kingdom into existence for I AM The Substance as I AM The Matter and Formula to all things eternal in and through Me alone " God Almighty " .

Numbers 24:3-9 (New International Version) 3 and he uttered his oracle: "The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of one whose eye sees clearly,

4 the oracle of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty,

who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:

5 "How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!

6 "Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters.

7 Water will flow from their buckets; their seed will have abundant water. "Their king will be greater than Agag; their kingdom will be exalted.

8 "God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones in pieces; with their arrows they pierce them.

9 Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse them? "May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified version )

1NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Hebrews 11:1 (King James Version)

Hebrews 11 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

as your words put My creation into motion

Not this demonic heresy again.

...My AMOS ( A Matter Of Substance ) for Me and My Kingdoms...

Gosh, I didn't know that God spoke in acronyms.

I’ve been a Charismatic for over ten years, and I never heard anything like this. We want to follow the Gospel and live Christlike lives.

It is usually called “word-Faith” doctrine or ‘name it and claim it’ or ‘blab it and grab it’. It is popular with the Benny Hinn crowd - not limited to Charismatics at all.

To pray with confidence is part of the Gospel message - whether one is charismatic or not - but it’s confidence in God’s love and providence, not an assurance of something specific’s being received.

God is a Father who gives His children what is best for them ... and just like an earthly parent, what they ask for is not necessarily what is best for them. “Mama, can I have a King Cobra?” “Of course not, Tom, but I love you anyway.”

Exactly and we are to pray with confidence, but this ‘word faith’ junk is much more like manipulating God (’I claim this in Christ so you HAVE to do what I say!’) or even witchcraft. That is where the danger lies. Not in being assured that God will answer our prayers. He just doesn’t always answer them the way we expect or even want, but they are always answered.

God always gives us what we *should have*. If it’s not what we ask for, the problem is with us, not Him.

I just don’t associate being charismatic with demanding a Mercedes Benz. The people in the charismatic prayer groups I’ve been with are generally poor. They want holiness, not mansions.

I know this is a caucus so I will ask rather than condemn
God is a Father who gives His children what is best for them

I don't necessarily deny this being true, but don't you find the "best for them" rather subjective? For example take 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 where Paul is facing his infirmities. He fervently prayed until he was answer with "My grace is sufficient for you...". Notice that Paul didn't benefit in any way, rather our LORD's strength was made perfect in Paul's pain and weakness. So this sort of flies in the face of the claim that God gives to us what is best for us. In this case, Paul was given that which didn't benefit him at all.

One can also look at Job. Here was a guy minding his own business "perfect in his ways" when he received Holy Smackdown. Job prayed for relief but it wasn't until God's glory was demonstrated in Job's pain and misery did Job get Divine remuneration for all of the trouble.

In a later post you clarified your position by saying that confident petitions to God are not of the "gimme gimme" variety, rather that which is consistent with what furthers His kingdom. The pattern we see in Scripture is to pray for wisdom, faith, strength and security. I don't see any of the disciples praying for a better job, larger house or bigger bank account. We do see these pillars of faith content with that which God had mercifully given them.

I would be interested in seeing those who claim that one can "speak to your wallet" or "speak to your husband" and derive temporal benefits due to some doctrine of quid pro quos allegedly found in Scripture.

Yes, it's the "best" according to God's subjective judgement. His goal is His glory, and only He knows for certain what will promote that goal. Ephesians says that our existence is for "the praise of His glory," and all our good deeds are for "the praise of His glory."

"As the heavens are high above the earth, so far are my ways above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts." (Is. 55:9)

Trust in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Two ways to read this, one that He will give you what ever you want. As I remain ponyless (~grin) that can not be the correct way of reading it.

The other way, and one that I have found to be true, is that I ask Him to give me the correct desires. A desire to do His will. A desire to be nice to people even when they are being royal pains. A desire to get up for early morning prayer.

He has given me those desires. Alas the flesh is weak and lazy so I don't always do what I desire but the desire to do so is there.

I was just responding to a question.
I attend an AOG church since we moved. How does that not make me Charismatic?

Ok, I will restore your posts except for #12 because it mentioned the beliefs of non-Charismatics.

I understand that, and agree. However, this doctrine has snuck into many churches. That doesn’t make it any less a heresy. And word-faith is a heresy.

It would be wrong to mis-categorize me as not being a member of the Charismatic Caucus. Members in here clearly disagree.

Put me down clearly as one in Tax-chick's corner, #8 who believes …
