Father Corapi -In speaking with faithful Catholics all over the world for the past twenty years there is a consensus among them that the average Catholic doesnt know much about their faith. Likewise there is an overwhelming consensus that if we did, the world would be a very different place. In the United Sates of America we have over sixty million Catholics. If these Catholic citizens knew their faith and then voted and lived their faith, this country would be incalculably better off. In turn, so would the entire world.
A good message. Clergy of conscience from all Christian denominations should be shouting this message loud and clear, especially around election day.
The ones who refuse to state the truth for fear of losing their state-sponsored tax status, well let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes when they meet the Big Guy.
Pro-death...obama and commie dems. Also, notre dame Jenkins.
The Pope (JPII & BXVI) is wrong.
MATTHEW 15:3-6 But he [JESUS] answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
LUKE 23:39-41 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
ROMANS 13:3-5 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Of course, I may be addressing the wrong issue if you made it clear :-)
?
Could you be more obscure?
Death Penalty
Preaching to the choir, now, how about informing the Bishops about this RC teaching, they are the problem..
I am certainly in favor of having more voters who are informed, intelligent pro-lifers.
But in many parts of the country, neither candidate on the ballot is nominally pro-life. Some then start talking about not supporting the “lesser of two evils”. They advocate indifference and indifference in important matters is a sin. And so is imprudence.

Good point. Maybe in those jurisdictions, if religious voters took their beliefs seriously and found themselves in this conundrum, they could come up with their own candidates to run.
"While the Church exhorts civil authorities . . . to exercise discretion and mercy in imposing punishment on criminals, it may still be permissible . . . to have recourse to capital punishment." - Benedict XVI
So you are wrong about Pope Benedict XVI

Padre, watch me...
He didn't mean capital punishment?
Pity.
Not necessary. I support the candidate that who is:
1. Willing to be an ally of pro-lifers
2. has a reasonable chance of getting elected and defeating the NARAL candidate
I know a former legislator who was a consistent pro-family vote in the state House. Some pro-life activists met him in town, discovered he was not a serious pro-lifer and organized against him. His NARAL opponent won.
Bottom line: if you’re in politics, you have to be able to distinguish between your allies and adversaries.

I agree, but I think the more important message is to get Catholics (and other voters whose religion dictates they should hold a similar position) to stop thinking they can freely support pro-abortion politicians. Appealing to them to be consistent with their faith, if successful, might lose a few races, but it could win a whole heck of a lot more.
You’re wasting your breath on this guy, I think he was making a parody of “anti-Catholic” Protestants, not seriously arguing the Popes were against the death penalty.
the effect of that message is that the pro-choice Catholics keep voting the way they are and the pro-lifers develop ridiculous beliefs regarding voting.
Give me one level-headed pro-lifer who wants to do something productive ... and he would be more useful than the whole bunch of amateur theologians combined ... even if the guy never votes for anyone.
The question is: who are you actively supporting?
voting? Voting? One vote never changes anything.
Ask for the Right to Life voting guide in your area. They may have a list of pro-life politicians for whom to vote.
