A good message. Clergy of conscience from all Christian denominations should be shouting this message loud and clear, especially around election day.
The ones who refuse to state the truth for fear of losing their state-sponsored tax status, well let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes when they meet the Big Guy.
Pro-death...obama and commie dems. Also, notre dame Jenkins.
The Pope (JPII & BXVI) is wrong.
MATTHEW 15:3-6 But he [JESUS] answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
LUKE 23:39-41 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
ROMANS 13:3-5 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Of course, I may be addressing the wrong issue if you made it clear :-)
Preaching to the choir, now, how about informing the Bishops about this RC teaching, they are the problem..
I am certainly in favor of having more voters who are informed, intelligent pro-lifers.
But in many parts of the country, neither candidate on the ballot is nominally pro-life. Some then start talking about not supporting the “lesser of two evils”. They advocate indifference and indifference in important matters is a sin. And so is imprudence.
Padre, watch me...
Ask for the Right to Life voting guide in your area. They may have a list of pro-life politicians for whom to vote.
The larger question IMO is do the bishops know much about their faith? If so, and if the above statement is true, why do the bishops vote for and support a whole litany of liberal and progressive issues? And if not, what qualities is being sought in a candidate for bishop, if not spiritual maturity?
