It is difficult to believe the catholic church as so many things swing from one place to another...pending the winds of change...so many happenings are generally regarded as miracles or sightings or somehow end up with religious meanings. But the same for branches of other religions....
If I were to believe any of it it might be those Christian happenings in third world countries more than here in ours. There are far too many frauds and counterfeits operating here in every branch of our country.
And frankly all those dark robed men in that photo give me zero comfort ....rather... looks pretty creepy to me.
And just for your information...satan and his hoard can mimic and do what appears to be miracles and positive feelings from their escapades. Further it is written they will do so at an amazing rate as things move forward. We are a world ripe for deception. Therefore I will continue to walk my walk with Christ by faith.....not by what might be seen.

I posted before some Church Fathers, here it is with more current authorities included. Is it Catholic teaching? Obviously it is, it’s Catholic tradition. “Current teachings” that change tomorrow, are inventions of man made religions. Truths can’t change into the opposite over time.

God gave us His word thru the scriptures, which can and does apply to all areas of our life. Other writings can inspire us or enlarge on what is written...but when it comes to that which is of a spiritual nature it is always best to adhere to what He has revealed in the scriptures.
As for Marys death...frankly if God thought it was important we know how she died...and anything other than she gave birth to Christ... I am certain He would have made that clear...otherwise it is simply not that important....
That's an erroneous claim. The Muslims are all divided among themselves just like the Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, and ALL religions except one. The Catholic Church is one. If 800 million Catholics died tomorrow, it would still be the worlds largest religion.
The Bible emphatically condemns the use of tradition as a source of authority because whenever tradition is set up alongside of Scripture, it eventually competes for the greater position and replaces it. It then is used to reinterpret Scripture.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 .......All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Suffice to say....Complete means just that, nothing else is needed to be function and mature in ones relationship to God except a willing heart and taking the time to read and study.
We are warned ..... “not to go beyond what is written,”... 1 Cor.4:6.

The first martyr of the Church Stephen prayed to Jesus to receive his spirit in Acts 7:59... contrary to this Catholics today pray “obtain for us oh Mary the grace for eternal salvation.”..... This shows they don’t possess it yet and are depending on a mere human to obtain for them by the privilege of being the Saviors mother....... To do this is to ignore Jesus in His office of savior, in His high priestly role today and as our soon coming King.
Nothing in Scripture ever indicates that Mary had prayers offered to her. no Catholic can ever prove this from the Bible only from the additions added on by the church.
How can you say this??? The catholic church itself has numerous branches and they can differ considerably from that which Rome teaches....Take a look at the Haitian Catholics who incorporate Voo-doo into their catholic faith. In fact a Voodoo priest must first agree to become a catholic before he is given the title of a Voo-doo Priest. I doubt most catholics will adhere to their church and yet they are indeed monetary recipients of monies from the catholic church.
There is not a list of the books of the Bible in any book of the Bible. However, there is a list of Mary’s ancestors in Matthew 1, a list of supervisors of the allotment in Numbers 34, and a list of priests and Levites who returned with Zerubbabel in Nehemiah 12. But isn’t it important that we Christians know, for sure, which books belong in Scripture, so we know what inspired writings are to be relied upon for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness?
Paul taught Timothy through words Timothy heard, not solely through writings.
There is also the lineage of Joseph given in addition to Mary...and with good reason...we find throughout the old and new testament the complete historical record of the lineage of Christ....and important that that be so for obvious reasons.
When we look at the example of the O.T. Scriptures, there was no oral tradition passed down at the same time that was equal to what the scribes penned.... Not for David,.... Moses.... or any of the prophets..... So why should we think there would be for the church?.... God gave Moses the record and it was written down so there would be no discrepancies.....And least we forget when the Pharisees said their traditions were handed down Jesus challenged them.
Although the path may be different, the conclusion you arrived at seems to be the same as that arrived at by the (Catholic) Councils of Carthage that had taken place in the early 4th century.
Jesus in Mt. 23:3 tells his disciples to do whatever the scribes and Pharisees, sitting in Moses’ seat, bid them to do, yet not to follow the example of their conduct.
“Everything they do is of men to see”
“They tie up heavy burdens and put these on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.”
“They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long...they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues.”
“They love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them “Rabbi”
Now this looks allot like Catholic leadership does it not?

Jesus then continues with the “woes” of those very “teachers” you quote from.....
He calls them hypocrites.....blind guides....blind fools...blind men....you snakes...you brood of vipers...
...and just to Clarify Jesus’s instruction concerning Moses’ seat.....they taught the law but were miserable failures themselves. So Jesus was pointing to the Law of Moses as good but not to the Pharisees and religious teachers teaching it. For it is the law which identifies when we sin...and which leads us to repentance and Christ for salvation. How would they know if they were sinning if there were no law?......Additionally Christ was with them and had not yet been crucified or arose....so the need to see their sin, as is for us today, was all the more important as Christ time was drawing near.
I am not familiar with them...nor about that happening...assuming it was a meeting of catholic leadership of some sort at that time. Over the centuries they have held many such meetings in determing the course they believe the church should take on doctrine and issues...but I am not catholic so these are not familiar to me for the most part.
First, though, I want to say I agree with you that seeing the context can indeed help in aiding our understanding. That is where I get hung up here, since Jesus called out the Scribes and Pharisees as hypocrites (all throughout Matthew 23, but also elsewhere). If, as you are suggesting, the Scribes and Pharisees taught only what everybody already knew (the Law of Moses as already established, presumably in writing, although I don't think literacy was a requirement for being under the Law, was it?), why did Jesus urge his disciples specifically to follow these hypocrites' teaching (it's right there, at the beginning of the chapter in which they are called hypocrites time after time, so it's not like we're talking unrelated parts of Scripture) rather than just telling the disciples to follow the Law of Moses?
He was speaking to the crowd and his diciples...so here we have Him telling them to pay attention to what the law says....in other words pay attention to what the scriptures say...what is written..what they knew or if they didn’t to pay attention.....and also that as he listed off the woes etc. he clearly was telling them their teachers were frauds....
People were listening to the false doctrines taught by the Pharasees and these were not convicting people rather they were a chain around their neck.....as is done still today we are taught to pay attention to the scriptures, what Christ says....
You cannot follow fraudulant teaching which is not supported by the scriptures......the only way one can not be deceived and led astray is to know what the scriptures say....Jeusus pointed them to the Law of Moses which was the ten commandments...he then points out the frauds the Pharasees were.
