“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved”
That’s good enough for me. I don’t want to get messed up with any of the other nonsense.

Good grief, CB, have you never been to a Catholic Mass??
Christ, and only Christ, is the center of it!

It's great that you didn't have to surrender your copy! LOL
What a powerful scene that describes, indeed!

Protestants make far too little of the place God gave to Mary. Catholics too much.
If one believes that Mary mediates all graces and that Jesus cannot refuse her request, then how is it possible to make too much of her?

Woe to anyone not agreeing with Roman Catholicism. Call the moderator, call the moderator. Panic. What I said was true and not a rant at all. If it offends you, well, there is a lot about Catholicism that offends me but I don't go running to “mother” as I believe you have free speech just as I. You guys are sounding like a bunch of crybaby liberals now. “Congress (or FR) quick pass a law so that bad guy can't say anything to us.”

I am VERY impressed. Thank you armydoc.

Mary was assumed into heaven, after she died. And which book and verse is that?

Would Moses also be dust, seeing as how he died (Deut. 34:5)? If so, how is it that he was having a conversation with Jesus (Mt. 17:3) ?
Which part of my post on "Old Testament Saints" did you not read?

I have been to a Catholic Mass and most of the churches you can think of. All faiths. The pagan rituals they celebrate are an abomination. Easter would be one example.

How does an angel get to be a “saint”

Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Eph 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
We have such a long way to go.
Is there nothing Catholics and Protestants have in common?
We really are on the same side and are fighting a common enemy. He is chuckling right now.

I don't think we are going to get much of an exegesis of this passage anytime soon.

I believe so since she was chosen to be the mother of the second person of the Trinity, Jesus, God made Man.Ok, this part of your statement I can understand. She truly stood out from all others. Obviously!
Others may not believe, but I choose to play it safe.
This part, I do not understand. Play what safe? Nowhere in the New Testament does Mary have anything to do with salvation that I know of. There is no mention of her by the Apostles that I can recall. I may be wrong.

Shouldnt you also be paying homage to Marys mother ... who bore her ... without that act Jesus would not have been born. According to your logic this is equally important.

Padre Pio said: "Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother." "Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today." "All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother." With great tenderness, he always spoke of the Blessed Mother as "my dear little Mother." He always said: "The Blessed Mother is the Mother of all Mothers." On Padre Pio's death bed, his final words that he kept repeating were: "Jesus-Mary; Jesus-Mary; Jesus-Mary."
Why would someone dismiss so quickly the words of a stigmatic (Padre Pio bore the wounds of Christ for 50 years; his body lies
incorrupt).
