If that hurt feelings...you did the country a good service by getting out because you are too thin skinned.

Says the FReeper who posted a plethora of articles about Protestants who molested children to prove a sordid point that, "we aren't the only ones who molest children."

***That it was homosexual sex not child rape.***

That it was homosexual child rape not sex.

There, fixed it for you, you had just a couple of words out of order.

unproven and just a theory

Plain Scripture. Proven. Any other matter I can clear up for you, since you appear to be in a theological haze?

Any foolish excuse will do to try and deflect the truth.

This is not just a homosexual abuse scandal. It is first and foremost a pederast abuse scandal.

The age of consent for sexual activity in every state in the union is 16 and above.

That means every one of these priests who sexually assaulted 15-, 14-, 13-, 12-, 11-, 10, 9-, 8-, and 7-year-olds all committed statutory rape on these children.

The point is, Irisshlass, it had NOTHING to do with the topic at hand and was thus a personal attack.

Try defending your position with facts and not looking for ancillary off-topic items to redirect the discussion.

You did not hurt my feelings but you did damage your reputation.

Your recap of the article is laughable.

From the article...

The Vatican has previously said that diocese officials and civil authorities knew about the allegations some 20 years before the Vatican was ever notified. Because of that, Lena said, it cannot be held liable for Murphy's abuse.

So says the Vatican. No one else says "civil authorities knew about the allegations."

You have more faith in the Vatican's flimsy excuses than most people do.

Paul tells the Galatians that he went to confer with Peter and then, also, happened to meet the Bishop of Jerusalem. Go for it yourself. Whatever your interpretation happens to be today.

The truth is the truth but you only seem to be like the lame stream media to be pointing out the abuses of one faith.

I was told all of the victims were adolescent, as in mature teenagers.

Per the John Jay report: (USA ONLY 1950 - 2002)
4,392 priests had 6,700 substantiated allegations
22% were younger than age 10 (NOT ADOLESCENT)
51% were between the ages of 11 and 14 (PARTIALLY ADOLESCENT)
27% were between the ages to 15 to 17 years (ADOLESCENT)

So at least 1/3 of the KNOWN victims in just the U.S. were pre-pubescent children.

And just think, this report most likely doesn’t include Lawrence Murphy’s 200+ victims.

Sounds like at least a 1/3 of them were straight up pedophiles.

But hey, it happened a long time ago and everyone does it so let’s not talk about it...

You are the one that uses your military rank as a nick. And I’ll take the risk of my reputation of being damaged, don’t be concerned.

No. Paul clearly says that he went to Jerusalem to meet with Peter specifically. Then he happened to meet with James. James was the Bishop of Jerusalem and very prominent in the Church. Paul was meeting with Peter in order to extend his credentials - he was teaching Christianity without ever having met any of the Apostles that Jesus had spent three years painstakingly teaching - and needed their counsel and approval. They wound up giving it - and laid hands on Paul in the manner of ordination that exists today 2000 years later.

“And just think, this report most likely doesn’t include Lawrence Murphy’s 200+ victims.”

One of the few where the crimes were actually reported to LE ie Romans 13:1 and the offending priest’s statement was the victims were mentally retarted rather than deaf so LE didn’t pursue the case

Sad

I comment on the articles that are posted. Post articles about LDS, Buddhists or Baptists abusing children and I'll be happy to call out their evil deeds.

The abuse in the RCC is systemic and the church actively covered it up. In most cases with other faiths the perpetrator is immediately removed from service and ends up in prison.
