Sam has now gotten MRSA. He’s been in the hospital since Mar 9, and last Friday he had laparotomy (after previously having a drain installed in an abscess, unsuccessfully) for abdominal abscess. He has three drains now. The initial surgical wound still has not healed, and is infected. Sam has lost 40 pounds in three weeks, and is very very ill.
His surgeon went on vacation today without telling my daughter, and has left another doctor in charge in his absence that we do not like. This other doctor did minor (!) surgery on my husband when he was dying of cancer, and there was a complication that I am certain shortened my husband’s life and increased his suffering. We have confidence in his primary surgeon, but not this guy.

Praying hard for your son-in-law, Sam, and your daughter and family.
What your family has gone through and is going through now is similar to what my family experienced. Please don’t lose hope. Your SIL can recover from the infections. (My father did.) Once Sam recovers from the infections, he may need physical rehabilitation before starting cancer treatment. Don’t take “no” for an answer. Stay strong!

Lord, please encourage Sam’s family so they can bear all this stress and concern. Lift them up and strengthen their spirits. I especially ask you to heal Sam completely and quickly. Let him feel your healing presence every day and be comforted.
Finally, Lord, please do not allow the surgeon to make any errors. Guide him while he cares for Sam. I ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen

I am so very sorry, Judith Anne. Please be assured of my ongoing prayers for Sam.
What a sad and scary turn of events. I am praying for all of you,especially Sam, that He will renew your strength, and lift you all up on eagle’s wings.
If it is His Divine Will, Sam will rally and be restored to his family. I pray in Jesus’ name that this will be the outcome.
