A visionary from the Philippines, Duke Puntalangit, warns that the Fatima chastisements will begin this year 2010. According to the visionary, the Middle East crisis will eventually result into an all out war in that region, afterwhich, a revolution originating from Russia, will engulf Europe. This series of events will cause chaos and bloodshed in all major cities in Europe, the global economy will plunge deeper, consequently giving the window of opportunity for Russia and China to execute militarily against Europe and the US.
Puntalangit warns that mankind has entered a point of no return and that the chastisements are now non-conditional. He however emphasis that the Virgin Mary's prophesied victory will definitely happen but will be realized only after the annihilation of several nations and the election of a new pope who will accomplished the request of the Virgin Mary for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart.
The visionary gives the following which he said are the immediate signs prior to an unexpected revolution in Europe which will usher in World War III:
1. A papal visit to Russia.
2. The signing of an aggreement, military in nature, between US and Russia.
The above events, Puntalangit states, are the immediate signs of the looming human catastrophe. In addition to the above, Mr. Puntalangit advices everyone to focus on current events directly associated with the Catholic Church, the Middle East, and US-Russia arms negotiations, as awareness of these may help the faithful to become vigilant and prayerful. The visionary further warned that only one-third of mankind will survive the war and out of this one-third only one-fourth will survive the three days of darkness which will occur a few years after the World War. Hence, he claims, we can expect only five hundred million will be alive to witness the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
I am uncomfortable with this man named a “visionary.” Does his local bishop give him any cred? (He does get brownie points for using a near hard date, so we can test his statement).
I give him props for a fairly hard date and some reasonably specific, verifiable conditions.
Doesn’t mean I believe him, mind ... just that I respect him more than I do most “prophetic visionaries”.
Like you, I only know what he has said. That is why this thread is labeled as a caucus and for discernment. There have been many whispered discussions about the signs of the times. I am not suggesting that this ‘visionary’ is correct; simply posting what he has reportedly said.
This is from the "Russia has not yet been consecrated" school of thought which is contrary to Sr. Lucia's statements.
There is going to be no "revolution originating in Russia" which engulfs Europe. Russia is walking towards the light. Western Europe is walking towards darkness. Any upheaval in western Europe will start internally and it will be an implosion.
Alleged visionary.
There's less there than meets the eye.
The difficulty is that some of the things that he is “prophesying” don't need much of a prophet's touch to predict.
With the warming relations between the pope and the Moscow patriarch, predicting a visit of the pope to Russia isn't a low-percentage event. Similarly, in that the US and Russia have ALREADY announced tentative agreement on a new nuclear arms treaty, well, there you go! Two “prophesies” that need no prophet.
And then, how much “fudge factor” will be taken by the prophet? I've been “prophesying” a double-dip recession since mid-2008, with the second dip happening in 2010 or 2011. It dosn’t take a prophet to see rising tides of violence in European cities WITHOUT another economic dip (hint: In France, a few hundred cars burned in a given night in the cities by the “youths” is a GOOD night). A double-dip recession happens? Yeah, in that case,we could easily see some more violence in European cities.
“...giving the window of opportunity for Russia and China to execute militarily against Europe and the US.”
Vague enough to mean almost anything. How about if China gets a little more aggressive in terms of harassing US spy planes over international waters? How about if Russia targets a few more missiles at Europe?
Notice, he doesn't say that all-out war will occur in 2010, or that WWIII will occur in 2010. Rather, all these smaller, vaguer predictions “will eventually result into an all out war in that region,...”
In the meanwhile, the pope goes to Russia, the US and Russia sign an arms treaty, the global economy weakens somewhat, “youths” burn more cars in more European cities, and the “prophet” will announce that his “prophecies” are on track, and by the way, can you throw another $20 in the collection plate?
I apologize for my seeming cynicism, but as we like to say, I've moved to Missouri on this one.

FR going down frequently is an imminent sign.
Seriously, wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the chastisement begins this year.
My alarm bells go off every time I hear someone say that Russia was not properly consecrated. So Sister Lucia was lying, then?
The Missourian attitude is certainly warranted. Most “prophecies” I see are so vague I can’t even tell for sure what the alleged prophet is talking about, or the timeline is so vague as to cover anything within the next millennium. They rate a 0/10. This guy rates a 1/10. (Isn’t that called “damning with faint praise”?) IMO. YMMV.
Choose your visions carefully.
BE THOU MY VISION
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son,
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise;
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heav’n’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
As NYer posted, this is for discernment only and scepticism is warranted. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what anyone else says. What matters is that the Blessed Mother told us at Fatima to pray the Rosary daily for peace. If Sr. Lucia said that the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart was done properly, then she ought to know and we should take her word for it. Nevertheless, this “visionary”’s words should remind us of the seriousness of Our Lady’s message and that we do need to pay attention to it. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for the three days of darkness, whether it comes or not.
I don’t have the links...but I heard last week that Putin gave a speech about a Saint...I think it was St. Francis or meantioned him and that the Russians are pouring millions into rebuilding their old churches.
Anyone have a ready link to the (alleged) statement by Sr. Lucia? By alleged, I don’t mean to suggest skepticism that the words came out of her mouth, but were they said freely, not under duress or undue influence and without interpretational difficulties? Even approved visionaries are not infallible.
Blizzard, hurricane, tornado, possum in the transformer substation ... being prepared for all kinds of service outages is a good idea, any time.
Chapters 7 & 8 of the film are a good summary of Antonio Socci's recent book, "The Fourth Secret of Fatima."
