Jesus was born a homeless child

I took my mom to church last night (Roman Catholic) and was amazed that the last song the choir sang before mass was "Jesus was born a homeless child". Is this now considered a Christmas song?

I guess that “priest” hasn’t read the Bible.

Not “do-gooders”.

Subverters of truth is more to the point.

Have your mother change parishes if she is not happy with the liberal priest.

By their definition, everybody doing Christmas traveling over 15 hours by car, who stops at a rest stop to nap in their vehicle, must be homeless

Well actually, that DOES sound kinda like how they come up with the numbers of people without health insurance.

Joseph should have called ahead and reserved a room. :)

I thought “liberation theology” died during the reign of JP2. I guess wrong.

It's hard enough to listen to this ridiculousness from non-Christians, but of all places, a Catholic service??

And I thought it was difficult arguing with Fr. Young when I was 13 about having the Baby Jesus in the manger before Christmas Eve, insisting that the Wise Men were not to be placed in the creche scene until Epiphany.

This letter to the editor was posted today: Note,

Isn’t it time we gave up the hypocrisy of the season? Many have already taken Christ out of Christmas with an Xmas greeting card and a bottle of Scotch.

We don’t need a nativity scene; we’ve decimated hundreds of forests to bring into our homes a Christmas tree. We have no reason for prayer; we have Twitter to replace “Silent Night.” There is “Grandma Was Run Over by Reindeer.” Kids only need be good for three weeks leading up to the special day when Santa and our credit cards pay the ransom for ignoring them the rest of the year.

Certainly there’s no place for even Three Wise Men in government. There might be if we hadn’t been brought up to date by your president who informed the world that we are “not a Christian nation.” We no longer need the Ten Commandments; we have the United Nations or the Koran to tell us how we should live our lives.

Your kids can’t carry a Bible to school, but they have science to tell them how they came from slime and Internet porn to show them what love really is. We’re probably too busy to disagree because office Christmas party time is our chance to get drunk and lure a secretary under the mistletoe.

So let’s all contribute a few cans of food to the hungry and then we can forget about the other 11 months. And getting our kids those electronic games they want, we can continue to slough off being an involved parent. After all, in a couple more years they’ll be the state’s problem anyway, so we needn’t show responsibility by example.

We made our mistakes; let them make their own.

It can also be pointed out that with a Democrat as President, there is no such thing as homeless people.

Just non-contributing masses.

I heard a similar sermon last night. Basically it was Southern Poverty Law Center stuff with a religious sticker on it.

Disappointing. I had brought two people who needed to hear the Gospel instead.

Almost. The church I was baptized in and spent many Sundays of my youth in has a lesbian pastor who got married a few years back, when Portland was doing that stuff. Needless to say, that was but one of many reasons I quit going.

Jesus was born a homeless child

Jeez! Jesus was born while out of town on a government-mandated business trip. His putative father, Joseph, as a carpenter, was not some alley-dwelling stumblebum.

Get used to it. The liberals are changing all they can.

Get used to it, my ass. Kick that idiot preacher out(make him homeless) or change churches.

As we know, Jesus wasn’t homeless; he had a home. It’s just that the family was forced to take a road trip for the census. The song was factually incorrect.

Right, a census mandated by a corrupt, oppressive government. Some things never change.

My wife’s family is Roman Catholic and every one that still attends Mass always complains about the way things have been changed.

But they still attend their closest parish regardless, so I guess it’s actually OK.

Liberals will tell any lie to make a leftist point.

Liberals ignore Ecclesiastes 10:2.
