Within the past few weeks Pope Bendict issued an encyclical wherein, although shrouded in much ‘newspeak’, he embraces a world government and the socialism that would entail.

RACHEL DONADIO and LAURIE GOODSTEIN
Published: July 7, 2009 Osservatore Romano, via Reuters

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday called for a radical rethinking of the global economy, criticizing a growing divide between rich and poor and urging the establishment of a “true world political authority” to oversee the economy and work for the “common good.”

He criticized the current economic system, “where the pernicious effects of sin are evident,” and urged financiers in particular to “rediscover the genuinely ethical foundation of their activity.”

He also called for “greater social responsibility” on the part of business. “Once profit becomes the exclusive goal, if it is produced by improper means and without the common good as its ultimate end, it risks destroying wealth and creating poverty,” Benedict wrote in his new encyclical, which the Vatican released on Tuesday.

More than two years in the making, “Caritas in Veritate,” or “Charity in Truth,” is Benedict’s third encyclical since he became pope in 2005. Filled with terms like “globalization,” “market economy,” “outsourcing,” “labor unions” and “alternative energy,” it is not surprising that the Italian media reported that the Vatican was having difficulty translating the 144-page document into Latin.

Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby.

Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues.

Ping for later

The flames are coming. However, it’s clear the Vatican will not say anything negative about 98% of what Obama is doing and in doing so it gives tacit approval to Obama’s policies.

Yes, he endorsed a global peacekeeper in his latest encyclical. Yes, he REJECTED the lack of morals of many NGOs in the world. I read that as a REJECTION of the UN, but an endorsement of global governance by a pro-life entity. Leftists interpret it as an endorsement of the UN.

"Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama"

Too bad the anti-Catholic bigots who wrote the article didn't do their homework. The actual wording by the Vatican was actually rather tepid:

"The awarding of the Nobel Prize for Peace to President Obama is greeted with appreciation in the Vatican,"

The semi-official Vatican daily, L’Osservatore Romano, has called the decision to award President Obama with the Nobel Peace Prize premature and more of an invitation to choose peace through politics. The award is also questionable because of his position on various bio-ethics issues, especially abortion.

The article points out that “the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama has taken everyone somewhat by surprise, first and foremost the U.S. president himself.”

“During the last 90 years,” L'Osservatore noted, “the prize has never been awarded to a sitting U.S. president—when it was awarded to Jimmy Carter in 2002 he had been out of office already for some time—[but was] involved in politics and susceptible, therefore, to making a range of decisions related to peace.”

Perhaps for this reason, the newspaper said, “Analysts have almost unanimously interpreted his selection as a way of pressuring Obama to make pacifist choices as his administration continues forward.”

Another untold story is how, despite a disagreement over abortion, the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the Obama Administration agree on major aspects of so-called health care reform.

So redistribution of wealth is ok with the Vatican.

Ignoring the eighth of YHvH's Commandments.

NAsbU Deuteronomy 5:19 'You shall not steal.
Repeated by Yah'shua:
NAsbU Matthew 19:18 Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said,
"YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY;
YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;

I can’t help but wonder if part of this Catholic alliance with the Left is due to the absence of a European-style right wing ideology in the United States. What would our politics look like if such an ideology existed here?

"Vatican Backs Obama's Global Agenda"

In the context of Cliff Kincaid's other anti-Catholic writings and the absence of any evidence cited, this begs the question; Is Kincaid anti-practicing Catholic, anti-nonpracticing Catholic or simply anti-Vatican?

It will be interesting to see how the six Roman Catholic justices on the USSC vote on future cases concerning abortion and Prop. 8 and gays in the military.

Liberal Roman Catholic social theory is what the church at Rome is. It's an oxymoron to say the papacy is conservative. The papacy is autocratic. It believes in a centralized power structure which controls all and therefore must go unchallenged.

It is the original "Big Brother."

Given many of the Catholic responses, should it be any surprise to anyone that our Catholic friends simply ignore the truth? If the Vatican came out tomorrow and said “Fox News is bias.”, I believe our Catholic friends would be tuning to MSNBC.

Fact is, the Vatican has held a one-world view for over 500 years.
