While Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" (and the movie version) wasn't as poorly written as The Da Vinci Code, it still has a lot of whoppers. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a18IQD8xTuQ

How sad that Ron Howard has aids and thats why he is losing his hair. I never knew he was a homosexual.
I am not telling “lies” about Howard, I’m just engaging in “fiction”. Thats his excuse for this movie so I’ll use it too.

As a reward for a good month at work, we were treated to a free showing of this movie. Ok, the dialog was contrived and the premise was really a joke, but IMHO I think that overall the movie painted the Catholic Church in a fairly positive light, especially where it concerned the Church's rich history and tradition.
I suppose if I were a Catholic I could find much to be irritated about in the movie, but I found much of the Catholic history and tradition depicted in the film to be fascinating.
If you were able to suspend your powers of reason and logic enough to enjoy "National Treasure" and you are not overly sensitive to some idiot's conspiracy theories regarding Catholic History, the movie can be entertaining.
Since I got in for free and was treated to a pizza and coke to boot, I'd have to give the movie 3 stars. For me it was definitely worth the price of admission.

The most laughable thing I’ve heard about it so far is that the Illuminati manage to steal a quarter-gram of antimatter. At current rates of production, it would take 2 billion years (no joke!) to make that much.

Didja notice how no one ever complains about John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness?

Why does this man have any credibility? Neither he or Leonardo Da Vinci was even around when the Last Supper occurred...duh

I found much of the Catholic history and tradition depicted in the film to be fascinating. Please entertain a healthy suspicion about how much you saw is really "Catholic history and tradition" and how much is invented by Dan Brown.
Here's a no-subscription article by a Catholic film reviewer, which debunks some of Brown's errors.

from the wiki-wacky-pedia: [snip] In October 2008, Howard reprised his roles as Opie Taylor and Richie Cunningham for the first time in over 20 years when he appeared in a video on funnyordie.com in which he endorsed Barack Obama and urged people to vote. The video, titled "
Ron Howard's Call to Action",[8] also features Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler. As seen in the video, Howard is seen shaving his beard and having hair done to recreate his younger look. [end]
