Old-Earth Creationism

by Henry Morris, Ph.D.

Many evangelical leaders today, unfortunately, have capitulated to the evolutionary timescale of modern unbelieving geologists and astronomers. They feel that they must somehow reinterpret the Genesis record of creation to allow for billions of prehistoric years, which the evolutionists must have in order to make cosmic evolution and biological evolution seem feasible. This compromise is necessary, they say, in order to win scientists and other intellectuals to the Lord...

No need to guess wrong. Scripture does not say that Adam needed to communicate the message to Eve and Genesis 3:2-3 shows the Eve did get the message.

You are correct that Scripture doesn't specifically say for Adam to tell Eve (or anybody else). But Scripture does record for us that Eve had it 2/3 correct which implies there was some amount of communication that happened b/t Adam & Eve.

She got correct that God didn't say she couldn't eat of ANY tree (refuting what Satan asked her). She also got correct that she was not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, the kicker was she added to that and said she was not to touch it either. One of the take-aways for me is also repeated in Revelation - DO NOT ADD TO WHAT GOD SAYS.

For your other question The question is, when did Satan sin and why didn't his sin bring in death? Ultimately Satan's rebellion DOES usher in death - he convinces mankind that what God says is irrelevant and we can be our own God. Exactly what he was cast out of heaven for. I don't know of the scripture that records the "when" of that happening. Please educate me.

Those medicines, and better medicines would’ve been discovered sooner had not all of science been fouled by evolution dogma.

Yeah! And we'd all have Jetsons' cars to fly around in!

Damn you Darwin!

Wonderful, I suppose.

How does your glow in the dark yeast prove that the adaptive behavior of bacteria is anything but a pre-programmed response provided at the time of creation?

What you did could be best termed “intelligent design,” since it was directed by a plan from outside the organism.

"Wow, that’s a really neato cartoon."

That's what he does when he has no answer (which is usually)

Excellent. Creationism isn't science.

So what?

And your point is?

Evolution is falsifiable. How is creationism falsifiable?

It isn't because it's true.

Two separate things.

Bacteria-the mutation(s) that made them resistant are not present in bacteria that are not resistant. That resistance gene can be cloned and put into other bacteria showing that it confers the resistance. That is why pharma are trying to develop other classes of antibiotics. Most of the antibiotics act on the same pathway in the bacterial cell and have similar molecular structures. They are trying to to develop drugs that work on completely different pathways.

Example- do not take tetracycline and penicillin at the same time- they will counteract . Tetracycline works only on growing bacteria by inhibiting the prokaryotic 30s ribosome (needed for protein synthesis). Penicillin breaks down the cell wall of gram positive bacteria. This causes the bacteria to rupture by osmotic pressure.

Using chemiluminescent bacteria, yeast and tumor cells, and placing them in mice, the progress of the infection or cancer development can be tracked in much fewer mice. Rather than having to kill mice at every time point the same mouse can be tracked through multiple time points. This saves $ and time and gives more reliable data. The company I worked for also patented a process where one could knock out the mouse, and image it in a light-tight box with an ultra-sensitive camera. After I left there, they developed a camera that could photograph the mouse from 360 degrees and using a camera. make a 3D picture of the infection or cancer.

Exactly what I do? Definitely not. The Bible is clear - the way to Heaven/eternal life is ONLY through Jesus Christ.

And the way you receive eternal life/Heaven is by faith alone. Anyone who has placed their faith and trust completely in Jesus Christ for their eternal life will not go to Hell.

I don’t even begin to think that people of my particular “variety” of Christianity will be the only ones in Heaven.

I am also a firm believer that our LORD also allows us to believe what we chose to believe. There will likely even be some Evolutionists in Heaven... wrong thinking on the subject of creation does not, in and of itself, make one “condemned to burn in hell”. But if one allows their beliefs on the origin of man to then go forward to the “logical” conclusion of the theory of Evolution - Atheism - then the game has changed.

...it MUST be wrong because the Bible says that God created every living kind fully formed and fully functional during creation week.

Which also must mean that all forms of evolution are a hoax since God created every living kind fully formed and functional on the fifth or sixth day.

Do you know who said the following?

“:Since we proposed punctuated equilibria to explain trends, it is infuriating to be quoted again and again by creationists — whether through design or stupidity, I do not know — as admitting that the fossil record includes no transitional forms. The punctuations occur at the level of species; directional trends (on the staircase model) are rife at the higher level of transitions within major groups:”

I see little there to challenge, but I do see that it really isn’t necessary.

Most if not all of the pharma-resistant bacteria are not resistant to commonly used essential oils of various plants, nor to allicin. Of course, none of these naturally occurring substances can be patented, thus there is little interest in their marketing, but a little education should be able to overcome thst drawback.

There is a “semi-homeless” man that hangs around our neighborhood doing odd jobs to support himself. about two years ago he contracted a necrotizing infection, and went to the VA where they treated him for about one day. Then the doctors at the VA hospital told him that it would be necessary to amputate his hand and part of his forearm, and that they had scheduled the surgery in 3 hours. He said that he replied “yea sure” or something to that effect, and then grabbed a smock and left as soon as they were out of sight.

He called his sometime squeeze for a ride, and then went and hid in the taco bell near the hospital. At the taco shop he locked himself in the mens room, and waited for her to knock on the door. When she saw his hand she said that what her mother always did, when she got infections as a kid, was to soak it in kerosene, which they did. That helped for a few days, but the hand started to become inflammed again in a couple of days, at which point he came by and asked me what to do. I just told him what I always did with my kids when they got skin infections like impatago was to smear thw skin with Vicks or Mentholatum (which always resulted in a bit of howling), which he began to do for a few days.

Much of the infection was gone by the third day, except for the areas around the finger nails, which remained very inflammed and sore. At that time I suggested that he try an Oregano oil and olive oil solution that I had used on toenail fungus in the past. The next time that I saw him was weeks later, and he was looking for work again, and his hand appeared ok except for patches of scab.

Now I don’t know if the doctors really were going to amputate his hand, but still, the infection that had swallowed about 75% of the skin of the back of his hand and wrist had healed without any great intervention.

"That’s right-the answer to everthing on the earth-god did it!"

For you the answer seems to be a paragraph of strawman quistions, designed to circumnavigate the real questions.
