Old-Earth Creationism

by Henry Morris, Ph.D.

Many evangelical leaders today, unfortunately, have capitulated to the evolutionary timescale of modern unbelieving geologists and astronomers. They feel that they must somehow reinterpret the Genesis record of creation to allow for billions of prehistoric years, which the evolutionists must have in order to make cosmic evolution and biological evolution seem feasible. This compromise is necessary, they say, in order to win scientists and other intellectuals to the Lord...

You are correct, raining for 40 days and 40 nights would render only 18” of water worldwide.

The Bible based explanation involves a canopy of water above the earth and the unleashing of the “vaults of the deep" from under the earth's surface, the latter being much more voluminous. Plus, many mountains were created as a result of the violent displacements caused by the Flood.

So where is all this water now? It can’t be in the earth because it would turn to steam and blow up the earth, unless there is a magical insulated container. If the Great Lakes were not made by glaciers, during the ice age, then why is the land sunder them still rising, rebounding from the enormous weight of the ice. How then are eskers made? What made the scratches on the rock outcroppings in central park. How do the isolated boulders get where there are found today?

That’s right-the answer to everthing on the earth-god did it!

So I've been told.

Since your PhD is in micro biology, you have no standing on this subject, which you make painfully apparent with your inane questions.

Do some reading.

==So there is no creation meteorology, creation geology, creation astronomy. There is the Bible, and everything that conflicts with it is false and not really science?

There are creationist INTERPRETATIONS of scientific data and there are evo INTERPRETATIONS of the scientific data. And yes, if the Temple of Darwinistic Materialism attempts to twist the data into saying that God doesn’t exist, then it MUST be wrong. If the Temple of Darwinistic Materialism tries to say that our common ancestor is some proto-cell from billions of years ago, it MUST be wrong because the Bible says that God created every living kind fully formed and fully functional during creation week.

The Bible does have references to the age before this one.

So does Hebrew tradition: Nor is this world inhabited by man the first of things earthly created by God. He made several worlds before ours, but He destroyed them all, because He was pleased with none until He created ours.

4th paragraph......1st sentence

Not scripture....of course....but intriguing nevertheless. "Legends of The Jews"

So people who don’t believe exactly what you do will burn in hell?

I am surprised you creationists have not called for us “evos” to be burned at the stake.

Reminds me of Monte Python:

Sir Bedevere: What makes you think she’s a witch?
Peasant 3: Well, she turned me into a newt!
Sir Bedevere: A newt?
Peasant 3: [meekly after a long pause] ... I got better.
Crowd: [shouts] Burn her anyway!

Not one creationist has answered with concrete proof what us “evos” have asked them to answer.

You still can’t read correctly. My degree is in MOLECULAR Biology.

For your information, you have to take courses in other aspects of your field and also read up on them.
Do you know how to determine the error rate of a DNA polymerase? It’s pretty simple, really if you know how the molecules work.

If I asked inane questions, they should be easy to answer with the myriad of facts you have at your disposal.

Once the last vestiges of evolutionist pseudoscience are purged from the schools and the labs, you'll see a new science with vast accomplishments explode forth from the lab, as guided by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Patent- you can patent DNA sequences.
I created a firefly luciferase (the protein that acts on luciferin to make them glow)that could be expressed in a species of yeast that had a unique codon usage for one amino acid. I had to change that codon in the ten places it occurs in the gene. This was a unique sequence that did not occur in nature. It and the process to detect it in yeast could be patented.

When I hear you say this I think you think you are Jules in Pulp Fiction:

‘Well there’s this passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.” I been sayin’ that sh*t for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never gave much thought what it meant. I just thought it was some cold-blooded sh*t to say to a motherf-—ker before I popped a cap in his ass. I saw some sh*t this mornin’ made me think twice. See now I’m thinkin’, maybe it means you’re the evil man. And I’m the righteous man. And Mr. 9 Milimeter here, he’s the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could mean you’re the righteous man and I’m the shepherd and it’s the world that’s evil and selfish. Now I’d like that. But that sh*t ain’t the truth. The truth is you’re the weak. And I’m the tyranny of evil men. But I’m tryin’, Ringo. I’m tryin’ real hard to be a shepherd. “

I cleaned up the language for those with virgin ears.

So does Hebrew tradition: Nor is this world inhabited by man the first of things earthly created by God. He made several worlds before ours, but He destroyed them all, because He was pleased with none until He created ours.

That is intriguing but not so much as the one you mentioned before which bears repeating....

"This is not scripture, but the Book of Jasher is quoted twice in the Old Testament. Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18. Some credence, therefore....should probably be given to this:"

Jasher, speaking of the creation (Jasher was the son of Caleb...a contemporary of Moses), says in 1:4-5, "And the abyss fled before the face of the light, and divided between the light and the darkness. So that the face of nature was fomed a second time."....Diego1618

I would have indented that quote...but I don't know how, however...how do you like the pretty blue color? :)

See?

There’s your problem.

Quit reading Pulp Fiction and screwing around with your (patentable) glowing yeast thingies and start studying some creation books.

We want you on our team!

After 25 years in health care, I’ve seen a lot this sort of attitude. It is amazing how one’s attitude is adjusted when asthma has their child or them unable to breathe. I give them a little dose of “brain dead Big Pharm-poisoned, evolutionism-infected” medicine and suddenly they can breathe again.

God gave us brains for reason. It’s a shame so many refuse to use theirs.
