That is one interpretation fraught with numerous problems, the least of which is that if such were true, the God doesn’t believe in communicating the true meaning of His Word when He unilaterally issues a contract with those men He unilaterally gives His Word.

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Mark 13:32-37

I think that he was most likely referring to the generation which would be present to witness all of the particular signs of which he spoke.

Ok, I get it that you think that Jesus was talking about the generation that he was living in. I disagree, with your limited overview, but I get it.

What I don't get is why are you busying yourself in trying to stir up others who don't believe as you? Are you a new Christian? Do you not know this topic has been looked at for about 2000 years, and you aren't going to settle it on FR?

Instead of trying to stir up an untenable battle among believers, why not find a topic or mission that builds up the body? It's one thing to take a stand for what you believe and be able to give an answer for what you believe. It is entirely another thing to try to generate arguments for arguments sake.

Galatians 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

That article is a pile of stinking UNMITIGATED BRAZEN BALDERDASH FROM HELL. It's purpose is to seed confusion and delusion about crucial END TIMES prophecies and Biblical Truths instead of facilitate understanding about them--understanding greatly needed in this era. Folks must walk close enough to, with and in Holy Spirit to be able to discern WHAT THE TRUTHS OF GOD REALLY ARE ABOUT SUCH MATTERS.

The generation which saw Israel become a nation again in a day in 1948

will not completely die off until all the rest of the END TIMES prophecies [i.e. those up through Armageddon and the beginning of the Millenial reign of Christ] are fulfilled.

NO OTHER INTERPRETATION MAKES SENSE WITH THE COUNSEL OF THE WHOLE OF SCRIPTURE.

NO OTHER INTERPRETATION MAKES SENSE WITH UNDISTORTED FACTS OF HISTORY.

BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.

If you get tired of reading trash from the enemy of your soul, you might consider some prayerful preparations . . . such as those themes mentioned at post # 71 here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2212782/posts?page=152#61

CHRIST HIMSELF SAID TO WATCH . . . the parable about the 10 virgins was about BEING READY. The hogwash at the top of this thread is about going back to sleep; willful blindness and hell-fostered deception about the times and priorities we live amidst. May God have mercy on all who read such lies from hell. May HE GIVE THEM TRUTH TO COUNTER ACT SUCH LIES IN THEIR INNER MAN, BY HIS SPIRIT.

LET GOD ARISE AND HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED.

[Jesus told the disciples he would come back and take them to heaven in their lifetime. If he didn’t come back, then, he lied.]

No. You are lying because you don’t search the scriptures. If you did, you would not be an amillenialist or a sectarian religious Christian or even state such a slander.
You did it in ignorance is my opinion. However, you need to as Jesus the Christ of Israel, Lord and Saviour of the body of Christ, and coming King has said;
“Search the scriptures, for in them you think you have life and they are they which speak of me.”
You would do well to heed the warning because there is A WAY THAT SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN BUT THE END THEREOF IS DEATH.

Jesus came back & the early church left, with him. The rapture is past, the beast & false prophet also, the two witnesses are long gone, as are the 144,000. We live at the very end of history, when Satan is let loose, the armies from the North attack God's people, fire from the sky comes down and kills them, and there is a new heaven and new earth. And the final act is the Bride coming out of heaven. And then it's over. :)

Uh huh. According to Peter, the return of the Lord will be simultaneous with the end of all things. And according to Jesus, the sons of the kingdom are present in the world along with the sons of the evil one until the very end when the angels are sent out first to root out all evil from the world and then gather up the righteous. With such clear descriptions available, the apocalyptic imagery of Revelation has to be interpreted in light of the more clear and concise, not vice versa.

You ARE partly right, however. Many events which fundamentalist make-it-up-as-you-go preachers ae waiting for have happened already. Your mistake is you are still holding onto some of their false presumptions. There has been no rapture between the time of John and today, as certain of these preachers understand it. Yet, the dead saints have risen to Heaven. The body of Christ is manifest in the world today, and we are living in the age where Satan has been been let loose apon the world.

The Kingdom of God is still at hand. It has not left, and never will. Where is it?

Seeing that the Second Coming hasn’t arrived, it suggests that the word “generation” has a different meaning in this context. Nice try, fella.

Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of the land will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

I must have missed the newspaper accounts of this event.

II Tim 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

How convenient that you left out verses 32 & 33 in Matthew 24.

Also...You very conveniently did NOT quote Rev 20:2-3...

“He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.”

Explain to everyone, EXACTLY when that 1000 year period was when satan did NOT deceive the world because he was bound in the Abyss.

No vague garbage reply, no pride filled boasting, false assumption, or misdirection, just the dates when satan did NOT deceive the world for 1000 years.

Also, you very conveniently (for your purposes) left out a key part of Rev 4...you know, that part about the beheaded believers coming back to life and reigning with Christ.

You creatively quoted Rev. 4 as...
“Rev 20:4 ...and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, ... and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the WHOLE verse reads...
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”

Explain to everyone what evidence you have that all the beheaded believers came to life and are apparently now reigning with Christ!

You do not use the whole counsel of god, but twist scripture for your own deceptive purposes and thereby attempt to deceive believers into false beliefs, based upon lies.

In Bible study, we say; “Any verse taken out of context is a pretext.”

Be very careful to proclaim yourself to be a teacher of God's Word, lest you lead any of His children astray from His truth.

“Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers and sisters, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” Jas 3:1

You sir are teaching false doctrine and are a false prophet.

You would be very wise to be silent on this whole matter of Bible teaching and to cease your attempt to deceive God's children. You have shown yourself to be a false prophet and will one day be held to account for the little ones you have led astray. You are warned.

I'm not going to get involved in the hyper-preterism (aka Pantelism aka Hymenaen preterism) debate.

I'll just reference a couple articles: A Brief Theological Analysis of Hyper-Preterism by Ken Gentry and The Allurement of Hymenaen Preterism by Jim West.

Enjoy.

Jesus came back, in the 1st century, like he said he would, and, his angels gathered the elect and they went back to heaven. Which means, we live in the millenium.

And the next thing we would see is, the Bride coming out of Heaven

Forgettin' something there, aren't ya??? If you're are standing here on a piece of ground and you see heaven opens up and the Bride heading down, THE CHURCH, that means you ain't part of it...

The Wedding is OVER...And you missed it...I'd be a little nervous if I was you...

There is NOTHING in Scripture that suggests you can become part of the Bride AFTER the Wedding ceremony is done...

Are you saying that Satan has been bound for over 2000 years? It seems like a very bloody 2000 years if he has been bound and had no effect on man. The millennial reign of Christ as you have said is passing where has the lion and lamb eaten straw together?

Well, I will say one thing, it certainly does seem like Satan is running the show right now doesn’t it ... but then he was cast down of old and always has been causing trouble down here.
