Christians Attacked by Gays in Castro District, San Francisco
JHOPSF Member ^ | 11/17/08 | Vanity

I received this first-hand description of events that happened in San Francisco this past Friday night from a member of a Christian prayer group Justice House of Prayer-San Francisco. Please note there are some graphic descriptions in the email, but you can read most of it and skip the graphic portion if you wish.

A link to the news report is included, which includes video footage. The 'tolerance' of the left and the homosexual agenda is clearly evident in their violent and reprehensible actions against this peaceful group.

Do not use potty language - or references to potty language - on the Religion Forum.

If she had pressed charges, she probably felt she would have lost her chance to ever reach anyone there.
There's a real (culture) war going on out there and I just don't think enough people realize it.
By the time the Christians "reach" enough of the SOBs, they'll be no Christians left.

Sorry. I'll repeat my statement and clean up the language.

She said "No, tell him I forgive him."

This person has a very poor understanding of the Christian doctrine of forgiveness. If the perpetrator hasn't truly repented and asked for forgiveness, no real Christian is obligated to offer any.

In fact, it's a terrible idea and very un-Christian thing to do. All this person has done is enable the perpetrator to commit even more acts of violence. How is that Christian?

The proper Christian response is to demand that an arrest be made and then follow through on the prosecution.

Anything else simply aids and abets the commision of evil.

I live in San Jose, and I think there are better ways of getting the word of Christ out to the Castro district.

I think sitting on a corner worshipping God on a Friday night in the middle of the Castro district is just going to make people mad.

How about serving food to the homeless in the Castro district? I think you have to show God’s kindness and not say a word in these hostile areas.

What if you told them that you were going to start calling them (and use the derogatory term for gays)? But they would protest that as an attack and offensive. But say to them, it’s just a slang word, it doesn’t mean anything. By definition, it’s the same as any other word referring to a gay person. Why do you care? Why can’t I just change the meaning of that word to mean something I want it to mean. It doesn’t bother me, why should it bother you? It’s because the word has meaning to you, and you are willing to fight against its use in an inappropriate way.

Why is that any different than Christians wanting to defend the definition of a word they care about? Christians are fighting against people changing the meaning of a word that means something to them. They don’t want the word used in an inappropriate way. Words mean something to all of us, and it’s not fair to say some words can be dictated as off-limits by the gay community, but Christians don’t have the same right to defend words that mean something in their community.

It probably wouldn’t work, though, because I used the word ‘fair’ and that word doesn’t go both ways anymore. (sigh)

extremely good idea

I have been to the bikers week in Daytona

every time they have a group with signs saying sinners and yet there is another way to get the message out and that is do what the bikers christian group does
they go to the bikers week, they give out t shirts and hot drinks and there is a sign there saying christian riders etc.

they always seem to get a lot of people going over and join them where as the people holding signs on the street are just being ignored but at least they are still respected unlike what happened in the Castro area

There was a large protest by homosexuals in front of First Baptist Church of Dallas, whose pastor has been preaching a series of sermons on homosexuality. Had the church members acted in a manner similar to the denizens of the Castro district, rest assured such an incident would be front page news not merely in Dallas, but as far away as Boston and Seattle, not to mention Paris, London, and Berlin. Every Democrat and RINO politician within this country's borders would be fuming with outrage, especially when cameras were in their presence. Even the President, through his press secretary, would publicly bemoan the attack.

From a secular standpoint, the deck is stacked against Christians and other persons who adhere to traditional values.

Talk about walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death; I will fear no evil.

The next time they do this, bring multiple camers for the late Show on YouTube - and a couple of REALLY BIG guys -- the kind that "fear no evil" for they are the BADDEST SOBs in the Valley.

I wholeheartedly agree. There seems to be a much more positive response to actions. But bear in mind, this group is called the Justice House of Prayer, and they believe strongly in the power of prayer. So I can’t judge their intentions or their desire to follow their hearts or their callings.

In one of the first anti-acceptance demonstrations for Prop 8 in SoCal a styrofoam cross was snatched from the hands of a woman there who supported Prop 8.

It was reported in the Californian the crowd threw it on the ground and stomped it.

Principalities and Powers, indeed. The battle will only grow fiercer. The JHOPSF experience sounds almost like a stunning re-enactment of events described in the Bible that took place outside of Lot’s house.

That such tactics re-emerged after a couple of thousand years of alleged social ‘evolution’ designed to bring us a new and improved world should not come as a surprise.

The spotlight awaits as Satan approaches center stage.

May God give strength to His people and the martyrs yet to come.

“She said “No, tell him I forgive him.”

What a BEAUTIFUL picture of Christ’s love! There is nothing more disarming than showing the love of Christ to your enemies. This is a perfect example of “Turning the other cheek” as Jesus preached in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5!! Awesome!!!!!

I got the same eerie feeling.

I felt like I was watching video taped 3500 years ago. It is described exactly what I was watching.

As bad as the homosexuals are, it is their heterosexual enables who are making this all happen. Tiny minority is just a tiny minority. But liberals in media, academia, government and your own neighborhood are empowering and legitimizing these people. Was it 48% who vote against prop 8? Mostly heterosexuals who have no strong moral foundation.

And therein lies the answer as to why the violence will continue. Either fight back physically or throw them in jail.

We can forgive for offenses against us individually, but we shouldn't forget the state also has an interest in getting such people locked up.

You are wrong. Our Lord’s tormemtors and murderers did not (for the most part) repent of their sins or ask forgiveness. Our Lord forgave them anyway. The members of the lynch mob that murdered Saint Stephen neither repented of their sins nor asked for forgiveness. Saint Stephen forgave them as well.

Should we do differently?

Christians (and conservatives) are the only group in America who can be persecuted and maligned in the press and ‘deserve it.’

A refusal to fight back may make one feel noble, but all it earns you is contempt from your opponents.

Or, as in Christ's case, crucifixion.
