I disrespect them — just a hunch. Haven’t read it. Don’t plan to.

Pro-LDS and anti-Catholic threads abound in breaking news.

I’m detecting a pattern here...

I listened to the audio link. McArthur merely stated the historical facts - of which, most Protestants nowadays have forgotten. Here is what McArthur said about the reign of “Bloody Mary:”

Seven years after Luther’s death, the reign of bloody Mary began in England, 1553 - 1558. Mary restored the Pope’s authority in England.

Immediately, all Bibles were removed from the churches. All Bible printing ceased and was forbidden, it became a capital crime.

800 English ministers fled to Geneva, 300 Protestants were burned at the stake.

Her first martyr was the man who translated the Tyndale Bible, John Rogers, a London minister

This has nothing to do with politics in the USA. This is not a forum to discuss religion. I'm not catholic, don’t like the pope; but crap like this has no place here.

It is difficult to see what this objectionable nonsense has to do with Conservatism.

Wow. Can't we all just get along (Rodney King). Some of this stuff is just not accurate. I'm catholic (not cradle) and we study the bible every week at our men's group that's sponsored by my church. We study all aspects of the bible and both of our priests often stop by to sit in and be a resource for us. Most priests I've ever met were extremely well read and knowledgable of the history of the bible. They're not god's, they're a spiritual conduit if you choose and a valuable resource. That's how I see it. Good day.

Ho hum, another get together of let’s trash the Catholics again on FR.

When I visited a biz colleague in Charlotte, he invited me to his evangelical church. People were very nice to me. They were interested in me joining but polite.

Then I sat in their Sunday class. My friend was running it. At one point he told the kids the Catholic Church was an empire. I sat in the back and kept quiet as he went on about Martin Luther.

Afterwards when it was just he and I with his wife in the car, I told him about his comment. He didn’t even remember saying it.

And this was an Italian guy originally from Long Island. Guessing this is old hat for many folks down yonder.

So pretty much used to it now. It’s funny but you would think a lot of the misinformation died with the KKK. It hasn’t.

I converted to Catholicism back in 1987. I was enlightened by the Holy Spirit that Catholicism is truly following in Christ’s footsteps.

I don’t agree with this man. He is dead wrong. I will pray for him that he can be enlightened as I was.

I do wish protestants would just see Catholic as they are, just Christians. Oh do get over all this stupid fighting and get on with life.

I do refute his statements as I was invited to in the article.

I also object to the Catholic bashing of this thread.

Well, I must say that I find this post too vacuous to respond to. There’s not really anything to argue with, closer to blind prejudice or what is technically known as “invincible ignorance.”

It reminds me of some of the old Darwin threads.
