TFP can be a little nutsy, but I’m glad they had the nerve to do this. I am disgusted that this garbage should be allowed anywhere near a supposedly Catholic university, especially after the local ordinary has already objected.

While TFP member Cesar Franco shared fliers with students, Associate Vice President for Residence Life, Mr. William Kirk, approached saying: You cant do that! Stop handing those out now. Are you a student? Show me your identification.
People like this guy need to be fired immediately. They have no business being employeed by a Catholic university.

What's your experience with them? The TFPers I've met are into conspiracy theory and a little down on representative forms of government. And, of course, their hero Plinio de Oliveira had some very dubious theological ideas.
Overall, their hearts seem to be in the right place much of the time - but I wouldn't want to get too deeply ensconced with the group.

I graduated from a Catholic university that was CINO.
It is time to reign in these CINO universities and bring them back to catechism basics.

They show up at events in Spain (I believe they are originally a Latin American movement) wearing capes and pounding on drums and looking as if they have their ties tied too tight. They don’t seem to be able to sort out Christianity from their political and economic views, and this makes them easy targets.
However, that said, if they showed up to protest this abomination, I’m completely in favor!

I think that’s what the Pope is trying to do. But they just scoffed at the letter he recently sent out, and while he is expected to address the issue of Catholic education on his visit, it is also expected that they will continue to scoff.
Somebody somewhere is going to have to drop the hammer on these people. Sweet reason doesn’t seem to work.

I wouldn’t send a child of mine to Notre Dame if it was the last university on the face of the earth.
This disgusting paeon to lesbianism, the V Monologues, is just about the grossest play to show its ugly face on a college campus.
In one scene, the “cheerleader” on stage tells the audience...”Now we’re all going to say the C—T word. Shout it out! Don’t be ashamed.” And she leads the male and female students in a diabolical cheer of C_C_C_C_C_

Some of us will walk out of the hall when the show begins tonight, said one student.

I am a little puzzled by that statement. I would assume that the student has already paid for a ticket....
Oh, well, I am so glad that someone is standing up to this disgusting garbage.

It was a walk-out protest. And some letter writers to the student newspaper at Notre Dame criticized the protest for being "disrespectful." Ha!
A call for respect

"No. Be quiet. Go over there. Dont even try to speak. Then, turning to the police officer, he said: If hes a student, write him up. Ironic. The reasons given for staging the play were to promote dialogue, debate, and discussion. At least they are shown to be hypocrites.

Although I'm not a member of TFP, I support their cause. (I, too, am "down on representative forms of government"; this is the traditional position of the Church. Representative government is a liberal idea.)
To what do you refer when you say "their hero Plinio de Oliveira had some very dubious theological ideas"?

So what was he upset about? That the "free exchange" of ideas and opinions on the campus of a university would lead to...a rejection of The V Monologues?
