A stunning report published by Jane's Defense Weekly confirms rumors of a July explosion at a Syrian military base at al-Safir, near Aleppo, in which reportedly "dozens" of Iranian engineers were killed along with their Syrian counterparts. Syria had originally dismissed reports of the explosion by saying the blast was generated by the desert heat causing the accidental detonation of a stockpile of explosives. Jane's reported that the explosion was actually triggered while the engineers were fitting a chemical warhead onto a Scud-C missile. The explosion and fire released containers of the deadly nerve agents VX and sarin gas, as well as a mustard gas blistering agent. Israeli Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter told reporters this week, "Iran has entered into strategic cooperation with Syria on conventional and nonconventional weapons development," adding, "The Iranians are very big in Syria"...

Hal Lindsey, huh?
I can’t think of a better and more deserving group of people to die that these Syrian and Iranian engineers.
I’m only disappointed that so few died.
He’s still insisting that Y2K is going to bring all technology to a screeching halt.
But, But this can’t be true the Baathist are Sunni and the Iranians are Shite. The dhimocrats and the MSM all told me they won’t cooperate.
Isaiah 17
An Oracle Against Damascus
1 An oracle concerning Damascus:
“See, Damascus will no longer be a city
but will become a heap of ruins.
2 The cities of Aroer will be deserted
and left to flocks, which will lie down,
with no one to make them afraid.
3 The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim,
and royal power from Damascus;
the remnant of Aram will be
like the glory of the Israelites,”
declares the LORD Almighty.
4 “In that day the glory of Jacob will fade;
the fat of his body will waste away.
5 It will be as when a reaper gathers the standing grain
and harvests the grain with his arm
as when a man gleans heads of grain
in the Valley of Rephaim.
6 Yet some gleanings will remain,
as when an olive tree is beaten,
leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches,
four or five on the fruitful boughs,”
declares the LORD, the God of Israel.
7 In that day men will look to their Maker
and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.
8 They will not look to the altars,
the work of their hands,
and they will have no regard for the Asherah poles [a]
and the incense altars their fingers have made.
9 In that day their strong cities, which they left because of the Israelites, will be like places abandoned to thickets and undergrowth. And all will be desolation.
10 You have forgotten God your Savior;
you have not remembered the Rock, your fortress.
Therefore, though you set out the finest plants
and plant imported vines,
11 though on the day you set them out, you make them grow,
and on the morning when you plant them, you bring them to bud,
yet the harvest will be as nothing
in the day of disease and incurable pain.
12 Oh, the raging of many nations
they rage like the raging sea!
Oh, the uproar of the peoples
they roar like the roaring of great waters!
13 Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters,
when he rebukes them they flee far away,
driven before the wind like chaff on the hills,
like tumbleweed before a gale.
14 In the evening, sudden terror!
Before the morning, they are gone!
This is the portion of those who loot us,
the lot of those who plunder us.

I finally learned to disregard "headline chasers" when studying eschatology but I'll have to admit I still read them as a guilty pleasure, like twinkies. Both have no nutritional value (physically or spiritually) but they sure are entertaining.
The only thing missing is Bat Boy, and he's out of a job. I bet Joe Farah could hire him for cheap!
I've never read a twinky.....
All the end times prophets did ,is to convince the decent folk who listened, to withdraw from the debate and sit it out. Thus, yielding the floor to the godless movements which would lead to the erosion we have now in our morals and society. If you check the time line, the left made its biggest incursions while Oral Roberts,Billy Grahman et al began to get up on the end time message.Great for revivals ,but I think with only a few exceptions(moral majority),the Christians began to yield the country over to the left.Hey the end is coming, why even try?
DON'T - - or you'll never eat another. (just what is "partly hydrogenated vegetable oil?)
That’s not end-times prophecy; it already happened, long ago. The new city of Damscus, and, indeed, IIRC, even the Damascus of Jesus’ time, was rebuilt since then.
(just what is “partly hydrogenated vegetable oil?)
Goo.
And it’s the main ingredient in peanut butter, but not twinkies... anymore, anyway.
And twinkies just haven’t been worth the calories since they got rid of it. (The filling, once like frosting, is now like a sticky ooze.)
There’s and old Jewish saying, “Whatever God does, he does twice!”..................
Jesus is coming soon... look busy!
Your statement is incorrect- The key idea of this prophecy is that Damascus is utterly destroyed, never to be inhabited again. It can also be taken to mean that Syria itself will lose it's crown, or that Syria will cease to be as a sovereign nation for all time.
Neither of these have occurred, even to this very day.
Damascus should have been destroyed for the (?)th time on Sept. 12, 2001.
They've only been "sovereign" since the middle of the 20th century.
That circumstance enables Damascus to be destroyed again!
Like the O.J. scandal blending into the Smith scandal, you get prophecies "recycled" over and over and over.
They share many elements in common with both Sunni and Shia Moslems, but they also share elements with Christianity and Judaism, andprobably even more "Old Time Religion".
On a challenge one Freeper found a single source (that claimed he was a trained Mullah) on the internet that would claim the Alawi were actually Moslem. Virtually all Moslems hold that the Alawi are NOT Moslem.
