That’s a great site. I love the Book of Enoch, I hope we get the rest of it someday. He wrote down all of the blessings of Father Adam to his children, the history of the work, past present and future. We should truly appreciate what little is there. Supposedly, there are 300 books written by Enoch, at least he says so in the little we have.

Thanks.

The Dead Sea scrolls were buried as though they were dead persons. The “Scriptures” that are among the Dead Sea Scrolls were ones with scribal errors serious enough to warrant their being buried and not used.,p>

What is your basis for this theory?

Ok, I am baffled by your statement.
Lets see, saying I am not embarrassed
Family and friends are LDS and know little if any of the Bible (unsure why this bothers you, its a truism, it says nothing about you, it speaks of them)
Explain why this is bigotry and intolerance?

***

Your whole attitude towards the LDS emanates contempt for the Church and the LDS themselves.

Could it be you don’t tell off you family so through non face LDS you feel comfortable to rail to your hearts content!

the evils of the LDS there is not enought bandwidth...

could help to know your gender I am female! I feel you are female I could be wrong?

The trouble with the internet once does not know the gender nor the generation of the other party.

I heard a sermon once on “the eye of the needle”. What the fellow said was that the gate to the city was called “the eye of the needle” and that it was to low for a fully loaded camel to walk through and it had to get on its knees and crawl.
IE one must humble themselves to enter...

All LDS stuff is by definition propaganda. LDS do not feel required to tell the truth, otherwise Joseph Smith would have been debunked long ago.

That must be true, that's why the Church is growing so rapidly, because it's not been debunked, despite the repeated efforts of the last 150 years, over and over, the same fronts never changing. Remember, no one is asking anyone to believe on our words, that's just silly. All men are expected to ask God for the truth, he has promised to reveal all truth by the Holy Ghost, It's simply not a side you want to fight against, He will win, and His work shall be accomplished.

Here's some words of Joseph Smith to consider:

"The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”

History of the Church, 4:540.

I do not to tell my family / friends off, they know what I believe and are free to believe what they want. They are decent and kind people they are just wrong.
“evils of the LDS” was not my phrase it belongs to someone else. I will state again, if there was a post to the religion forum and that was the topic there would not be enough bandwidth to handle it. Again it was not my phrase, it was something I repeated but I do believe you already knew that.
Gender and generation, its interesting that is something you desire to know, I would say neither are relevant. I do not have contempt for LDS or its people, I have contempt for people who bait, who do not answer questions or answer with a question, who accuse of bigotry without merit and indirectly practice the intolerance they accuse others of.

As a follow up to this, about 5 years ago, I did a story on a BYU Prof. working at the BYU Center in Jerusalem who spent 8 hours a day with Dead Sea Scroll fragments under a microscope trying to put them together. They were on loan to him for this project. There are many others like him doing the same thing. I think it is a great and important work!

* In England, the Church’s Millennial Star printed the same article, perpetuating the error: What ERROR??? None has been shown.,p>

Yes it has. In the original publication of the history in the Times and Seasons (newspaper) at Nauvoo, this name appears as “Nephi,” and the Millennial Star perpetuated the error in its republication of the History as well as several later publications using the same text.

That it is an error is evident, and it is so noted in the manuscripts to which access has been had in the preparation of the original work by the times and Seasons.

When I attended a LDS for a year while in collage living with my uncle an LDS Bishop, I never heard the Bible mentioned once...not once.

That's so sad. You should come to my ward. BTW, what meetings did you attend on a weekly basis? Sacrament Meting? Gospel Doctrine? What was the course of study in Gospel Doctrine? This year is the New Testament. I'm guessing it was a different one while you attended. They rotate every 4 years to get the entire cannon curriculum.

It is YOUR outfit that claims to have the RESTORED Gospel. Why are the things you do NOT in your scriptures??

I think we've been through these waters before Elsie. Even in Christ's day, he taught the general public in parables and other methods. Some things he shared only with his disciples and faithful members. I see no change from the precedent He set up 2000 years ago. Do you really think that everything that Jesus did was included in the scriptures?

John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.

Then you'll also have to use the other phrases - What Brigham Young modified; What WILFORD WOODRUFF and Lorenzo Snow ended.

You forgot WHAT JEHOVAH OF THE OLD TESTAMENT CHANGED HIS MIND ON... Would you care for me to point any of them out for you?

If God, who is unchangeable can change to fit the situation, why not mortal, imperfect men who happen to be God's servants?

Hmm, the site is still there, and the books of Enoch are readily available on the Internet. Here are some sites to start with.

1 Enoch (Ethiopic Apocalypse of Enoch)

2 Enoch (Slavonic Book of the Secrets of Enoch)

It is ridicules to say Gender and generation is not relative of course it is you are not an angle yet!

Males have a tendency to cut through the fluff and get to the core of thing.

Female have a tendency to mall things over and nurture things sometimes excessive!

Generation is vital for the era one grew up it because it shapes a lot of their views of life.

Also along with age people assimilate their thoughts as they progress through life what they thought 20 years ago is different in the next 20.

You have 10-20-40-60-80 in each of these are of importance one because life journey in general plus experience and living.

When you are young you are looking forward until you are in you mid 40’s than you try to hold on some do until their late 50 and the 60’s one seems to have vision of what is to come next and into the 70’s one is looking back and reflecting!

Funny how some would rather believe the Internet, than members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I shake my head at times, the beliefs that some sites says that we believe, I’ve never heard of...

I've heard about magic underwear. What's up with that?

The LDS that I am acquainted with personally are devoted generational LDS and know so little of the Bible to make their knowledge almost none existent.

Sadly; this is the state of most folks in Protestant and Catholic churches as well.

And we pay for it!

Hosea 4:6a

my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
