What does "blessed art thou among women" mean? Are you saying that "among" doesn't indicate anything? Are you implying that some women were more blessed?
What about in Genesis, when emnity is placed between the devil and his seed and the woman and her Seed, can we agree that if the woman's Seed is Jesus Christ that the woman is Mary?
>>You speak so lightly of people who are Born Again.<<
You are deliberately misstating my words.
Look....there are those on this thread who have referred to the Mother of God, as "Our Lady of Perpetual Thin Mints", the "first Girl Scout" a "cookie-giver" and flippantly "Our Lady of Do Si Do's"-- I think those remarks are very disrespectful of Our Lord's Mother. What do you think?
I know nothing about your spiritual relationship with Jesus, but I do know what Mary's is.
<<Maybe faith in Jesus means so little to you.<<<
Clearly, you know very little about my faith.

Perhaps a third possibility, however improbable, also exists . . .
That God, while deploring the Marianolatry, has such fierce compassion on those seeking His help . . . that He grants such.
Personally, I'm more inclined to think that some demonic involvement is at least quite plausible.
Carrying Jesus is nothing at all compared to being Born again.
Carrying Jesus doesn't make you a Christian. Carrying Jesus doesn't put you in the Book of Life.
Matthew 11:11 Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
There two levels or kinds of blessing at play. John's blessing which was a more natural one and the blessing of being Born again. The least Christian, who is Born Again, is greater than the greatest person born of a woman, which is the unborn again state.
604 is an attempt to expand on the point.
This would be our starting point. What would you say is the difference between those who have been healed at Lourdes & those that were not healed after making a pilgrimage there?
*Your words. If you think it persuasive to adopt the errors of others in dialoguing with them, by all means have at it. But, don't think those reading your public comments won't conclude you actually believe what you write.
And now your defense of calling the Catholic Church a "sect" is....
Nothing you wrote answers the questions.
In 1925, the church exhumed the body for a third time. They took relics, which were sent to Rome. A precise imprint of the face was molded so that the firm of Pierre Imans in Paris could make a light wax mask based on the imprints and on some genuine photos. This was common practice for relics in France, as it was feared that although the body was mummified, the blackish tinge to the face and the sunken eyes and nose would make an unpleasant impression on the public. Imprints of the hands were also taken for the presentation of the body. The remains were then placed in a gold and glass reliquary in the Chapel of Saint Bernadette at the motherhouse in Nevers. The site is visited by many pilgrims and the body of Saint Bernadette to this day remains incorruptible despite being nearly one hundred and fifty years old.
Not so fast.
Those pictures do NOT depict Bernadette today.
Apparently, the real corpse has blackened skin, dead eyes and nose, and dead hands.
A mask has been placed on it created from imprints and photos.
The body is mummified. As with all of us, she awaits the new body that will be granted all those who die in the Lord.
LOL! I suppose I could pick the partially germinated barely off the ground, but that would be more in line with what the Trappists Monks do to make their excellent (but pricey) beer.
I disagree, or healings would be commonplace. Satan could have all of us worshipping #2 pencils (name your common object of choice) if he had that kind of power.
Try Maccabees from a real Bible.
Mary was blessed. The Lord did great things with her. She was remarkably blessed.
I've said it often and continue to say it. I know others who say the same.
Therefore, your proposition is wrong. Many protestants recognize and say that Mary was blessed.
What are the first five beatitudes?

This is a very good post, thank you.
It's good for a number of reasons.
First, you implicitly acknowledge that something remarkable does go on at Lourdes. That's true. There's a scientific committee there to study it, and the dossiers every year are thick with real healings. So, you're operating from facts and trying to fit the facts into a theological pattern. This is good. Pretending something doesn't exist which does exist is bad. And you didn't do that.
Second, you presented an option which is possible. You don't like the option, but you know with God all things are possible, so you say that it is possible. This is good too, against because it is theologically true.
Third, you present your favored view, which fits your theology. This is the point of your post, and you do it without impugning my motives for having asked the question or doing an end-zone dance.
Fourth, you acknowledge that you really don't KNOW for sure, and therefore you DON'T take a strict, certain, and possibly erroneous stand.
I appreciate this sort of response.
I don't know what secret/special process the Monks use, but so long as the process isn't similar to that required to make Kopi Luak coffee, I'd be willing to take a sip.
So, given that reality, why wouldn't I think you believed what you wrote when you wrote...And because you do not know, it COULD indeed be demons, and therefore you must be properly cautious.
*Now, I am done with this thread because I am too anchored in reality to waste time trying to guess what you mean when you post your own words.
For all I know, you don't even really mean what you wrote in this post I am responding to.
I'll note, for the record, nobody is ever confused about what I believe
Bottom line:
She's dead, Jim.
First, I think that if you're going to cite someone, you ought to ping him/her ("first Girl Scout" was mine). Second, if we're going to talk about disrespect, it ain't my faith that's turned Mary into blatant consumer kitsch, selling everything from glow-in-the-dark dashboard icons to "Mary with the Girl Scouts" bubble gum cards.
i DON'T construe it as God leaving satan unfettered, unlimted power to deceive in such ways.
Scripture does, BTW mention one miracle of satan . . . the AntiChrist being wounded, killed and coming back to life . . . or is it his false prophet.
