>>You speak so lightly of people who are Born Again.<<
You are deliberately misstating my words.
Look....there are those on this thread who have referred to the Mother of God, as "Our Lady of Perpetual Thin Mints", the "first Girl Scout" a "cookie-giver" and flippantly "Our Lady of Do Si Do's"-- I think those remarks are very disrespectful of Our Lord's Mother. What do you think?
I know nothing about your spiritual relationship with Jesus, but I do know what Mary's is.
<<Maybe faith in Jesus means so little to you.<<<
Clearly, you know very little about my faith.
RD
604 is an attempt to expand on the point.
First, I think that if you're going to cite someone, you ought to ping him/her ("first Girl Scout" was mine). Second, if we're going to talk about disrespect, it ain't my faith that's turned Mary into blatant consumer kitsch, selling everything from glow-in-the-dark dashboard icons to "Mary with the Girl Scouts" bubble gum cards.
You missed Mary Queen of Kernels!
I was rather proud of that one :(
I think some people are offended by merchandising. I can't say I blame them. I would find merchandising of images of Jesus Christ pretty offensive. If the RCC holds her in such high regard yet merchandises images of her, I have a hard time reconciling those two things.
