How many members of the Episcopal Church are there in this country?
About 2.2 million. It used to be larger percentagewise, but Episcopalians tend to be better-educated and tend to reproduce at lower rates than some other denominations. Roman Catholics and Mormons both have theological reasons for producing lots of children.
Episcopalians arent interested in replenishing their ranks by having children?
No. Its probably the opposite. We encourage people to pay attention to the stewardship of the earth and not use more than their portion.

Breeders not welcome here!
Why is the ECUSA going down the toilet? Because its members are smarter and more responsible and don't have enough kids to keep the membership up. Yeah, that's the ticket.
And in that vein, we strongly encourage the last of us to turn out the lights.
FYI..as discussed

Presented as a public service and to deter breeding.
You were previously bishop of Nevada, but your new position requires you to live in New York City. Do you and your husband like it here?
He is actually in Nevada. He is a retired mathematician. He will be here in New York when it makes sense.
Well, if hubby's gonna wait til New York makes sense, the bishop's gonna be mighty lonely.
We encourage people to pay attention to the stewardship of the earth and not use more than their portion.
Of course, being Episcopalian, one knows with precision what one's portion is.
As much as one can get.

That line caught my eye too. We are not supposed to use more than our portion of what, exactly? Air? Water? Floor space? Bandwidth? And will the good bishop give us a formula for determining our portions?
The Shakers didn't get married or have children. The group ceased to exist after they all died.
That's an, uhhhhh, "interesting" picture.
The Shakers still exist. Last I heard there were 4 of them (as of July, 2006).

"We encourage people to pay attention to the stewardship of the earth and not use more than their portion."
The Episcopalians know that the real reason Jesus came to earth was to support the UN's Millenium Development Goals.
**Episcopalians arent interested in replenishing their ranks by having children?***
That's because they wear one of those "little rubber thingies on their kock!"
But to the Catholics..."every sperm is sacred...".

"Have you met Pope Benedict? --- I have not. I think it would be really interesting."
My hunch is that Pople Benedict considers this lady ripe for conversion. She is a walking-talking, living-breathing "dictator" of relativism.'
Darn right. It will bring shalom in our time. She really said that, btw.
