This looks excellent. (I read the part about the devil -- very good.) Somehow people today don't seem to believe that Satan really exists.

I believe God has given us Guardian angels and I feel less alone in my prayers whenever I ask mine to pray with me. I never pray to my angel. That would displease God. But I know God has sent an angel to help me with my prayers.
I also know God likes to make me laugh, and He has done so through the guardian angel.
Blessed be the Name of God.

Just curious, but did that issue of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin ever get resolved. If so, what was the final tally?

You understand that that is a geometrical question, not an angelogical? It's about points and area. Spiritual things don't "take up space" but they can have a location. And the rest follows. The answer is "as many as you please".

Angels are incorporeal beings. Only beings with bodies can be said to occupy space. An infinite numer could be there....
Also, such a question was never considered by Medieval Theologians. It is a canard meant to caricature great Theologians as out of touch with reality and occupied with fantastical ideas inapplicable to life on Earth

I have heard it said that one of Satan's major strategic goals is for people to think that he does not exist.

A good overview of the subject. I just finished reading the section of the Summa regarding
angels (see the bottom of the page). It's fascinating, especially the roles of the various orders of angels as explicated by St. Thomas.

(A: It never was. It's an old anti-Scholastic canard).

There's a movement "out there," called Opus Sanctorum Angelorum whose mission seem to be to cultivate our friendship with the angels. It ran into problems with the Vatican on some aspects of their spirituality, but apparently, they have weathered that storm. This is the link, if you're interested: http://www.opusangelorum.org/english.html I neither endorse them nor oppose them. I just find their site and their spirituality interesting. -Theo
