A good overview of the subject. I just finished reading the section of the Summa regarding angels (see the bottom of the page). It's fascinating, especially the roles of the various orders of angels as explicated by St. Thomas.

There's a movement "out there," called Opus Sanctorum Angelorum whose mission seem to be to cultivate our friendship with the angels. It ran into problems with the Vatican on some aspects of their spirituality, but apparently, they have weathered that storm.
