Here is a forwarded email from a Christian screenwriter in Hollywood. I recommend this strategy regarding the Da Vinci Code. Let's all do this! Of course, I believe we should do BOTH C & D, but I hope you get the point.

I've read the book. It did not turn me into an anti-catholic. So I doubt the movie will. Of course it is fiction. At no time during it's readin did I feel like "religion" in general was being bashed.
If it weren't for for constant howling from the church, the book would not have been so long on the best seller list.
On the other hand, the fact that Cardinal Mahony is encouraging Catholic Americans to break the law and harbor illegal aliens, is not fiction.
Why not speak out and protest that?
Flame away!

This is what you Christians get for not beheading a few heathens now and then. You don't see Tom Hanks making this kind of movie about Mohommed, now do you.

I'm with you. C&D for me, at least. I will find a movie to see that weekend, hopefully the 19th.
I will have my hands full with C, a good friend and I share a lot in common, including faith and religion, but she is absolutely convinced that the movie is truth marketed as fiction for Brown's protection and these are truths that the Church has been hiding for centuries, and finally someone had the courage to air them publicly. We disagree. It caused a brief chill in our friendship when the book came out. Sigh.

I'll probably see the movie. It was a good, if only passably written yarn based on an old, old story.
No one owns Christianity. Anyone can believe and write what he or she wants. If you don't like the story, don't buy the book and don't see the movie. Otherwise see post # 3

I really don't want to see the stupid thing at all, but both my mother and my sister are all agog about it--and of course they won't go together, oh no! I have to go with them, seperatly each time of course, to see this stupid movie. Tell the truth I didn't care for the book; why do I make such promises. Maybe the visuals will be pretty and I can go with corks in my ears.

I saw an interview on television with this smug, self serving moron who thinks he's such an authority on Christianity. Just more rubbish for the masses of morally superior, self satisfied Atheists/secularist/Christian haters.
He very conveniently chastises that which he uses as his main sources, namely the bible. How convenient. In his mind, the whole Bible has zero credibility except the parts of it which he draws on to loosely support his idiotic claims.
What a perfect book for the legions of fools out there who most likely also believe everything Michael Moore has to say as well.
It's a book for idiots.

It's a fiction book. I don't understand the fury over it.

The book was lousy, so the movie may actually be better than the book, but I doubt it. I don't go to movie theaters, though.
There is no accounting for taste of the under educated public, so why get yourself upset over this.

"Use your vote. Don't throw it away. Vote for a movie other than The DaVinci Code. If enough people do it, the powers that be will notice. They won't have a choice." BRILLIANT! I shal mark my calendar to attend a movie each day for the entire weekend ... and it will be all the more meaningful since the only movies I've attended in the past several years have been the Harry Potter flicks! Wow, a spike in attendance and it won't be the lies from Hollywood. Any suggestions on movies to see, BTW?
