Which circle of Hell do You belong in?

"Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to the eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost.
Justice urged on my high artificer;
My maker was divine authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love.
Before me nothing but eternal things were made,
And I endure eternally.
Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."

I actually made it to purgatory! And I was completely honest! (I thought for sure, I'd end up with the lustful, the prideful or the gluttons.)

I AM THE WAY INTO THE CITY OF WOE.
I AM THE WAY TO A FORESAKEN PLACE.
I AM THE WAY INTO ETERNAL SORROW.

SACRED JUSTICE MOVED MY ARCHITECT.
I WAS RAISED HERE BY DIVINE OMNIPOTENCE,
PRIMORDIAL LOVE AND ULTIMATE INTELLECT.

ONLY THOSE ELEMENTS TIME CANNOT WEAR
WERE MADE BEFORE ME, AND BEYOND TIME I STAND.
ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER HERE.

-For those like me who prefer the John Ciardi translation.

Hey, me too.
You have escaped damnation and made it to Purgatory, a place where the dew of repentance washes off the stain of sin and girds the spirit with humility. Through contrition, confession, and satisfaction by works of righteousness, you must make your way up the mountain. As the sins are cleansed from your soul, you will be illuminated by the Sun of Divine Grace, and you will join other souls, smiling and happy, upon the summit of this mountain. Before long you will know the joys of Paradise as you ascend to the ethereal realm of Heaven.

I thought for sure I'd be sent to Level 3. I made it to Purgatory, too.

So, guess I'll be spending Purgatory with my fellow freepers. I wonder if there will be many DU'ers there.

A Priest once told me that if we shoot for Heaven, we should at least make it to Purgatory, but if we shoot for Purgatory, we'll probably end up in Hell.

Purgatory as well. That was kind of fun, and a good reminder of the Four Last Things on a First Friday in Lent.

I've been meaning to take this test after my Humanities class last semester. I always saw myself between the third and fourth circles, but thats what we have confession and plenary indulgences for :)

The sweet light no longer strikes against your eyes. Your shade has been banished to... the Second Level of Hell!

You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate.

Helen! Cleo!! How the hell are ya?

LOL!

A good thing to remember...the Four Last Things on this First Friday. Have a blessed Holy Week.

I made it to Purgatory, too; I expect most Freepers would lose points on "wishing ill to your fellow countrymen", since I see it here all the time.

Your fate has been decided....
You are one of the lucky ones! Because of your virtue and beliefs, you have escaped eternal punishment. You are sent to Purgatory!

Ended up on Purgatory, but some of the questions were a bit odd.

The one about "which would you give up, Sex or food?" was kind of weird.

St. John Baptist de la Salle, Priest (Commemoration)
First Reading:
Psalm:
Gospel:
Jeremiah 20:10-13
Psalm 18:2-7
John 10:31-42

If you have done nothing, or if what you have done has been fruitless because it was done for a human motive, begin immediately to do good works so that at death you will be able to offer something to Jesus Christ in order that He may give you eternal life.

I made it to Purgatory! There's a relief! The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to Purgatory!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Level Score
Purgatory (Repenting Believers) Extreme
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers) Moderate
Level 2 (Lustful) Low
Level 3 (Gluttonous) Low
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) Very Low
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) Moderate
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics) Very Low
Level 7 (Violent) Low
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers) Moderate
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous) Very Low

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

The one about "which would you give up, Sex or food?" was kind of weird.

It's an attempt to separate the gluttonous from the lustful ... which in turn (according to Dante) partially governs the level of Hell to which one might be condemned.
